NEW AMSTERDAM’s Jocko Sims on His ‘Amazing’ Experience Working with Janet Montgomery

NEW AMSTERDAM’s Reynolds (Jocko Sims) and Bloom (Janet Montgomery) have been entangled (in one way or the other) since the show’s start, but season 5 has allowed new shades to their relationship—including her recent reveal that she had an abortion during their relationship.

“It’s been amazing,” Sims tells Give Me My Remote in the video below of getting to work with Montgomery on deeper scenes. “I love the fact that we found that there was some history with them and that she was pregnant with his baby. I love the drama that they wrote around it, the fact that Floyd was completely thrown by this, he felt betrayed. And that she had to bring it on home and remind him [it wasn’t about him]—we tackle[d] this issue of Roe versus Wade [being overturned] with it. So that was amazingly fun.”

And that translates off-screen, too. “Working with Janet is always amazing; she’s the best actor on our show,” he says with a faux whisper, noting it wasn’t a slight against his fellow co-stars—Montgomery’s just that good. “I’m gonna miss working with her all the time.”
