Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

THE ROOKIE: The episode once again felt a bit overstuffed. I love Celina, but I wish the subplot about her wanting her sister’s case file had been saved for another episode. As it was, there was just too much. (The cops all gossiping on the official radio channel, however, was hilarious, as was Grey’s command that Lopez get rid of the hot security detail Wesley unknowingly hired.)

I love how quickly Chenford have settled into (very cute) domestic bliss. Yeah, I’m sure there will be drama to come—it’s a television show—but they’re happy and they’re giving themselves this. I hope this happy bubble can last as long as possible.

Also, Elijah, dude, once you send dead roses, you don’t need to add cockroaches to it. It’s just a hat on a hat.

FBI: Ugh, poor Tiff. This whole team needs a long, work-free break, because they keep having really bad things happen. (I know, I know, TV.)

I’m kind of shocked OA was a crypto guy, and I feel awful for him that he lost so much. But, man, I loved the OA-Scola scene at the end when Scola offered to help* and he said, “I consider us to be good friends.” We don’t get to see them as frequently, but I hope we get more in the future.

*Scola, you have a baby on the way. While I get and appreciate your desire to support your friend, maybe not the most ideal timing.

AMERICAN AUTO: It’s always good to see Ben Feldman on my TV screen, even if he’s playing an absolute jerky, um, pain in the ass? Definitely a scam artist.

It was fascinating to watch the team talk themselves into a bad decision when they thought someone else might be interested; it’s human nature, but, also, trust your instincts!!

Also: I’ve watched the episode a couple of times now, but the cast in the final scene absolutely kill it. Their timing as they all slowly realize that, yep, they’ve (literally and figurative) bought into a whole lot of nothing is laugh out loud funny.

FBI: INTERNATIONAL: Well, uh, Ben was not subtle about his interest in Kellett at all. It’ll be interesting to see how serious they get, both because her job takes her everywhere and it can’t be easy to maintain anything new in the face of that, plus the obvious Scott factor. The show hasn’t really touched on Scott and Jamie’s former romance in a bit, but they weren’t just super casual, so if either moves on in a serious way, it could—and should–have an impact.

FBI: MOST WANTED: Ugh, a gut-wrenching case. That poor child is going to be traumatized for the rest of her life. Of course it’s more tragic if her mother is killed, too, but…sigh. A hard one.
