Fox Cancels THE RESIDENT
April 6, 2023 by Marisa Roffman
THE RESIDENT has concluded its run on Fox.
The medical drama, which ran for six seasons, will not return for a season 7, Give Me My Remote has learned. Season 6 finished airing in January.
The news comes on the heels of Fox ordering a new medical drama, DOC, to series earlier in the week.
The series starred Matt Czuchry, Bruce Greenwood, Manish Dayal, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Jane Leeves, Jessica Lucas, Anuja Joshi, Andrew McCarthy, and Kaley Ronayne. Emily VanCamp starred in the first four seasons, before exiting in season 5.
THE RESIDENT showrunner Amy Holden Jones isn’t exactly out of the Fox business, though: The network recently made a script-to-series commitment for the drama ARCHIE & PETE, with which she wrote/will executive produce. (Matt Nix also serves as an executive producer on the possible series.)
