About Last Night…THE VOICE and QUANTUM LEAP
March 14, 2023 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!
THE VOICE: I’m kind of shocked Kelly Clarkson used her block on Blake Shelton when the contestant was singing a Harry Styles song. (But, look, it definitely seemed like the odds were stacked against her if she blocked either way.)
It was a really solid night of auditions, though. And I’m really glad Manasseh Samone came back; I’m shocked she was a one-chair turn, but she was great.
It’s also really great how well the coaches are working together. I never would have guessed that Chance and Blake would have had so many similar turns, but it’s been fun. Adding two new coaches to the mix really has been fun.
QUANTUM LEAP: Ben telling Addison he loved her? My heart. (Yes, obviously, that had to be a normal thing pre-leaping, but the leaping wiped their relationship from his memories for so long, and they were so cute
I loved, loved, loved seeing Jenn as the hologram, though. It’s insane to realize how little time the ensemble has spent together, or how infrequently we get to see Ben with anyone outside of Addison. But I also felt so bad for her that he didn’t remember her (which, fine, was understandable), but then he DID recall Magic.
Overall, a really solid episode. I’m glad they’re at a place where they can take little swings and play with the format. Excited to see how they lean further into this in season 2.
