Couch Madness: The 2023 Winners!

For the past few weeks, Give Me My Remote launched our own kind of bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other in what we dubbed Couch Madness. (Credit for the excellent name goes to fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)

And now, we have our first winners! Keep reading for your choices for the best “Burned,” “Countdown,” “Crossfire,” “Exodus,” “Memento Mori,” and “New Normal.” (You can also check out all the previous brackets here.)

“Burned” winner: LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (3): “Elliot thinks a possible rape victim is lying to enhance her divorce settlement. But Olivia thinks it’s a sign of her husband’s escalating violence, and believes that Stabler’s judgment is clouded because of his divorce.”

“Countdown” winner: LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (1): “The team at SVU has 72 hours to locate a man who has kidnapped, raped, and murdered four young girls. Can they find him before time runs out?”

“Crossfire” winner: CASTLE (5): “Castle and Beckett have their lead and are ready to face LokSat, but an unexpected twist puts everything in danger.”

“Exodus” winner: ER (1): “Because of benzene that’s been spread, the ER has to close. Weaver gets felled and Carter has to take the lead.”

“Memento Mori” winner: THE X-FILES (1): “Scully attempts to come to terms with her inoperable cancer. Meanwhile Mulder and the Lone Gunmen break into a high-security research lab to find the cure that could save her life.”

 “New Normal” winner: CHICAGO P.D. (4): “With Voight suspended, Antonio takes charge of Intelligence to deal with overdoses of bad heroin, but Ruzek undermines his authority.”
