Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

KITCHEN NIGHTMARES: Oh, Gordon was right to curse out those younger two sons. They were absolutely smug and too self-involved; it’s not like he was even asking them to do hard physical labor. I’m glad he got through to them and got them to actually utilize their skills to help their family restaurant.

THE VOICE: Huntley was absolutely great; it’s very cute and funny his daughter picked Niall. I hope it works out well for them.

But, man, I sobbed at Dylan singing for his mom. (And he’s only 20!) Reba is the perfect coach for him, and it was so clear from the start how moved she was by his performance.

(As always: Whyyyyy are we showing a no-chair pregnant contestant? Especially as they made such a big deal about her being the first pregnant person to audition.)

Also, with the teams now filled up, it’s absolutely bonkers that John’s team is 8/14 four-chair turns. I’m curious if that actually gives him an advantage going forward.

LOTERIA LOCA: Not all Loca challenges are the same…filling in the phrases/expressions is so much easier than the instrument challenge!

I don’t blame Sairy for trying to go for it, but, man, what a bummer she left with nothing. Alas.

THE IRRATIONAL: Oh, I absolutely loved having Karen David on the show; she’s done a great job of swinging by for memorable guest spots on NBC procedurals this year.

The case itself was fun, too, because I was on the “she got someone to kidnap her” train until the hostage video where she was clearly looking at someone else. I appreciate that the cases feel really different so far.

Also, it may not be a musical episode, but any time we can get Jesse L. Martin singing is good by me.
