CHICAGO FIRE: Taylor Kinney Set to Return for Season 12

Taylor Kinney will return to CHICAGO FIRE early in season 12, Give Me My Remote has learned. (In what capacity, however, is still to be announced.)
Kinney took a leave of absence from the long-running series earlier this year to deal with a personal matter. He last appeared on the Wednesday, February 22 episode.
The drama wrote Kinney’s character, Kelly Severide, out by sending him to “the best arson training investigation in the world” in Alabama in a March episode. CHICAGO FIRE mentioned him during the spring episodes, and Severide’s wife, Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo), went out of town to visit him.
However, in the season finale, Severide’s wife, Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo), began to doubt their relationship…only to reverse course and declare, “I’m going to get my husband and bring him back to Chicago.”
CHICAGO FIRE is set to return midseason, with Andrea Newman serving as the new showrunner.
