About Last Night…NAME THAT TUNE, THE VOICE, and FOUND
November 29, 2023 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!
NAME THAT TUNE: The games weren’t the absolute best the show has done, but it sure was a lot of fun watching Kym Whitley and Caroline Rhea plus Jamie Chung and Bryan Greenberg compete against each other. Having that real-life connection makes it a little extra fun and I hope the show leans into it next season.
THE VOICE: MIRACLE!!!!!! WE FINALLY GOT A SUPER SAVE ACTUALLY SAVED. Azán was also great, so I’m glad John kept her around. Really interested to see what the lives bring out of all the teams next week; it feels like a pretty wide-open field for a potential winner.
FOUND: Ow, it hurts. Honestly the worst possible time for Gabi to have to contend with a loss, which of course makes it dramatically delicious, but ouch. And then the press conference reiterating this is why you call cops and not vigilantes? Double ouch.
I have mixed feelings about the Sir flashbacks. Mark-Paul Gosselaar deserves to get more to do, and the glimpses we got of his childhood were tragic, but I’m just…wary. I don’t think for a second the show will attempt to redeem him, to be clear. And there are interesting elements to humanizing a monster. I get this is probably only something you could have done while Sir was sick, but it felt like it was detracting from Gabi’s spiral rather than additive, so I wish it had come in a different episode.
