Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

QUANTUM LEAP: I loved this episode. It was great having the different people pop in as Ben’s Holograms, but, boy, was I thrilled to have Addison come in at the end. I know it’s only been a few episodes, but I’ve missed the Ben and Addison dynamic so much. (And Raymond Lee and Caitlin Bassett were just great together.)

The mission was also fascinating. Watching the team try to contend with a lack of resources was a fascinating twist, and made it so we got to see new sides of our people. I loved how that shook up the dynamic and their own comfort level.

CELEBRITY JEOPARDY: Well, Mo Rocca was good at this game. And I’m glad Kyra Sedgwick got that Kevin Bacon question. And…yeah, the game was incredibly lopsided.

But, wow, to some of the other Qs. The Taylor Swift round was timely, even if they were not great at it. We got a MAGNUM P.I. question. And, man, the Matthew Perry question just made me sad.

THE MASKED SINGER: Okay, but the Sea Queen is Macy Gray, right? There is no way that can be anyone else…

MAGNUM P.I.: It is extremely difficult to pull off a light-hearted sidekick getting a bigger spotlight, but the writers, Bobby Lee, and Zachary Knighton handled the tension really well. Yeah, Jin was still Jin, but there was depth and gravity to his scenes, especially in that freaking trunk. Really well done.

And, oh, that final Miggy scene was perfect. Them acknowledging they aren’t the couple who wants/needs to spend a lot of time apart? My heart.

Also, Knighton did a great job directing. Even if you exclude that complicated helicopter chase sequence—which was fantastic—there were a number of shots (like the pan up from the pool) that were gorgeous.

CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE: Lauren Lapkus was just a great contestant, and the best kind of solid player: CLEARLY good, but not so much where the entire game was lopsided. How the heck she got “adorable baby” in that first game was unreal. Ditto “nonsensical jibberish.” And I’m saying that as someone who guesses the answer before the contestants nine out of ten times.

THE $100,000 PYRAMID: Uh…well, the first game was terrible, but at least one contestant won $100k. Game 2, the contestant should have probably had $150k, but…look, they didn’t get a lot of help from their celebrity partners. (The VP clue broke my soul.)
