About Last Night…THE SIMPSONS, BOB’S BURGERS, and FAMILY GUY

Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

THE SIMPSONS: I’m sure this is a surprise to no one, but I’d go on a nerd cruise in a nanosecond. And it devolving into a “whodunnit?!” The DREAM.

The show really used Taika Waititi in a way they don’t frequently utilize their guest stars playing themselves, so, yes, it made it very obvious what the case resolution was. But it was still a really fun episode and one I’m looking forward to rewatching.

(But also ouch to the timely dig about titles being used as tax write-offs. Go THE SIMPSONS writers.)

BOB’S BURGERS: I loved this episode. Mr. Fischoeder’s cabin was creepy, but in a way the family could still (eventually) work around to find the holiday spirit. The kids being concerned about Santa finding them was perfectly innocent; every time we get to see them actually be young, it’s enjoyable. Plus, we got Linda desperate to find their lost Christmas tree and Bob brushing the teeth of a wall-mounted animal. (Literally laughed out loud at the latter.)

FAMILY GUY: Kevin James being the face/stand-in for network TV absolutely fits. But, yes, network TV forever. This weird ode to the way TV used to be was perfectly bizarre and worked. (And, okay, for the record, CHICAGO FIRE is filmed in Chicago. Can personally vouch for that.)
