Couch Madness: ‘Payback’ (Group 2)

In honor of the NCAA tournament season, Give Me My Remote is bringing back our TV-centric bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other: Couch Madness! (Credit for the excellent name goes to fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)

The seeding is simple: rather than quality of the hour, we’re going by air date (with the oldest episode getting the #1 slot and the newest getting #8). With Peak TV, this will not include every single show that has used this title; rather, we picked a selection from what was available.

The first round will run from Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15. Round two will kick off on Monday, March 18, with the final face-off starting on Monday, March 25.

Next up? “Payback.” And with this title we’re doing something different: There are enough shows for two separate brackets. So keep reading for the second bracket, episode descriptions (from IMDB), and the poll. (For the other episodes competing, check out all the brackets here!)

MISTRESSES (1): “Harry resists Savi’s efforts to make things right.”

THE ROOKIE: FEDS (8): “A ruthless gang leader seeks revenge.”

REVENGE (2): “Emily’s mysterious blackouts put everything and everyone she loves at risk; Victoria is confronted by two ghosts from the past.”

THE BOYS (7): “One year following Stormfront’s public controversy, Butcher and the Boys now work as contractors for Neuman’s Bureau of Superhero Affairs in order to apprehend problematic Supes, with Hughie acting as their liaison.”

BLUE BLOODS (3): “A celebrity chef from reality TV is murdered and a suspect readily confesses to the crime, but Danny and Baez think there is more to the case. Jamie and Jenko investigate a bizarre assault and elsewhere a senator uses his friendship with Frank to ask for a favor regarding a DUI charge.”

FBI (6): “The son of a retired FBI agent is kidnapped, and the team must investigate if it’s an act of revenge; Isobel must make a hard call when information from the past comes to light.”

THE GOOD WIFE (4): “Alicia and Lucca take on a for-profit university, while Jason tries to recover a missing student loan payment. Meanwhile, Eli creates more havoc for Peter’s campaign, and Diane looks for a solution after Howard accuses Cary of ageism.”

SWAT (5): “Hondo and team go on a citywide search for a kidnapped heiress. Mumford announces he’s get married for the fourth time setting off alarm bells within the team.”
