The upcoming television adaptation of THE RAINMAKER has found its Leo F. Drummond: John Slattery.
Slattery’s new character is described as “a legendary lion of the courtroom and senior partner at Tinley Britt, the powerful firm that Rudy Baylor is up against.”
In the new series—from CODE BLACK’s Michael Seitzman and based on the John Grisham book by the same title—“Fresh out of law school, Rudy Baylor goes head-to-head with courtroom lion Leo Drummond as well as his law school girlfriend. Rudy, along with his boss and her disheveled paralegal, uncover two connected conspiracies surrounding the mysterious death of their client’s son.” The pilot was co-written by Seitzman and Jason Richman.
The book was previously adapted into a film starring Matt Damon and Claire Danes. Jon Vogiht portrayed Leo in the movie.
Slattery’s television credits include MAD MEN, MRS. AMERICA, THE GOOD FIGHT, 30 ROCK, and VEEP.
