Who Went Home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?
July 15, 2010 by Kath Skerry
Oh friends. Tonight we have to say goodbye to yet another SO YOU THINK YOU CAN Dancer. We already know Ashley is in the bottom three because she wasn’t able to perform last night due to injury.
Last week the judges were off the hook as Alex’s injury forced him out of the competition. Will injury force out another contestant or will Ashley have a fair shake against the other dancers in the bottom?
Before we get to the results it’s time for a little dancing. The All Star joined the S7 contestant for a Broadway piece by Tyce Dioro. There were some really smooth and cool moments, but it was a little too frantic for my liking. I’m sure it was a big hit with others, and perhaps some of you. Did you love it?
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Tour
This week we shared with you the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE tour dates. Tonight, Nigel revealed that the tour will not only feature the S7 dancers, but also some of the All Stars AND some of the S6 contestants. Due to the crazy back-to-back shows, S6 didn’t have a tour. So you might have a chance to see some of your favorites from last year, Jakob, Russell, Katherine, Legacy or others perform live. Very exciting!
Not wanting to waste too much time, Cat stars with the results.
- First up are Kent and Lauren. These two adorable kids are SAFE!
- Next up on the stage are Billy and AdeChike. Hmm. I’m thinking Ade is safe and Billy is once again in the bottom two. And I’m right. Billy Bell is the first dancer joining Ashley tonight.
- That leaves Jose and Robert. It should be Jose, but who really knows with this crazy audience. But America made the right decision, and Jose is finally in the bottom tonight.
So Billy, Ashley and Jose are at risk of going home. Assuming Ashley can perform next week, Jose should be going home. But before we get to the results a little more dancing.
Twitch and Comfort, both who had to ride the bench last night, danced their memorable Dave Scott hip hop routine. Just as awesome as I hoped it would.
Dance For Your Life
- Billy was up first with his sole. Billy is such a unique and gifted dancer. I don’t think I loved his solo as much as I have in the past, but it was still wonderful.
- Jose definitely upped his game tonight with his solo in terms of musicality, but I don’t think it stands up to Dom or Legacy or the other B-Boys in SYTYCD history.
As the judges were off deliberating, Christina Perry took the stage to perform. Um, who? Am I just old and out of the loop? I didn’t fast forward because that would be rude…or because Neil and Allison were on the stage dancing along with the music. Oh right, that’s it. God I love them!
So Long, Farewell…
Wow, in another sad circumstance, perhaps the best female dancer in the Top 10 is going home tonight. Ashley’s doctors think she needs a few more weeks to heal and therefore she will be leaving the competition tonight. Devastating!
So that leaves just Lauren representing the girls.
Wow.
Thoughts on tonight’s bottom three?

I was really hoping that Jose was finally going home.
Question: In the group routine – was Jose not even in the routine until the very end when he pushed the couch across the stage? I even watched it twice looking for him. I was hoping that was a telling sign of the results – too bad.
I didn’t see him either and I was really looking for him. Hmmm. Then again, I only saw AdeChike once.
Sad about Ashley leaving. I do hope next week it will be Jose who’s going home. He just can’t compete with the other dancers’ standard.
Did anyone notice that Kent and Lauren were so caught up in each other they barely noticed when AdeChike came to them? Soooo cute those two!
