Lisette Olivera is exiting FBI, sources confirm to Give Me My Remote.

Olivera, who is set to make her debut on the series on the CBS drama in the next episode (airing Tuesday, November 12), plays BAU Profiler Sydney Ortiz. Originally, Olivera was set to be a series regular—and a permanent partner for Scola (John Boyd), in the aftermath of Tiff’s (Katherine Renee Kane) exit. Now, she’ll only appear in a handful of episodes.

Earlier in the month, new FBI showrunner Mike Weiss praised Olivera’s addition to the show. “[Ortiz] is gonna be a younger agent,” he told Give Me My Remote at the time. “She’s gonna be someone who comes from the Behavioral Analysis Unit, so she brings kind of a more psychological, intellectual approach to field work, and hasn’t been in the field that much. And all of a sudden, Scola finds himself in a little bit of a mentor-protégé relationship with a younger, obviously brilliant, agent.”

Deadline was first to report Olivera’s exit.

FBI, Tuesdays, 8/7c, CBS
