CHICAGO P.D.: Benjamin Levy Aguilar Previews the Return of Gloria

After getting romantically entangled with Gloria (Yara Martinez)—a drug trafficker’s wife-turned-informant—last season, Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) was stunned to discover in “Pawns” that she might have a tie to Intelligence’s current investigation.

“Definitely, it’s an uncomfortable feeling,” Aguilar tells Give Me My Remote with a laugh in the video below. “There’s a lot there, right? There’s a lot of emotions and a very, very strong connection that he, I guess, tends to find himself in. He doesn’t really know what to think; he’s definitely uncomfortable.”

And while Burgess (Marina Squerciati) knows about Torres’ secret, the rest of Intelligence is in the dark—and Torres needs it to remain that way. As he tries to keep his indiscretion under wraps, Torres is handling it “as best as he can,” Aguilar says with a laugh. “What he’s done in the past is, uh, against the law…And he maybe thought that he would be able to move on with this chapter of his life. And now it’s back…[it’s] not a comfortable feeling.”

With Gloria very aware of the Intelligence team, it’s up to the squad’s newest recruit, Cook (Toya Turner), to go undercover and try to get some intel in “Contrition.” (The hour airs Wednesday, November 13 at 10/9c.)

“Well, that’s so exciting, right? Her first time undercover,” Aguilar praises. “She’s so great to work with, and brings so much to the team. And she is the only person in the team that can go undercover because Gloria would recognize any of us. So it’s perfect timing that we have also a new addition, especially someone like Kiana, who’s so flexible in how she can be.”

But how much Torres is actually able to assist his new teammate is very much TBD. “He’s going through so much in his own head that I guess he’s not in the best place to guide Kiana through this,” Aguilar warns.
