ELSBETH Exclusive Clip: Elsbeth and Kaya Question Pamela Adlon’s Chef Veev

A kitchen staffer is killed on the Thursday, November 14 episode of ELSBETH, “Elsbeth Flips the Bird”—and the lawyer has her suspicions about the restaurant’s chef, Chef Veev (Pamela Adlon).

In an exclusive clip from the episode, Chef Veev is discovered at the bottom of a stairwell…and next to the staffer’s body.

“Jordan!” Veev cries out in the video below. “Oh my God. Is he dead? Tell me he’s not dead.”

As they rush to remove the body, Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) notes the chef took a “nasty beating,” and asks what the chef might remember. Veev shares she was pushed down the stairs—and also refuses to go to the hospital. 

“I’m fine,” she insists. “I’ve worked with concussions before.”

When other staff members show up, Veev breaks the news of Jordan’s death: “We were attacked last night. He saved my life. Jordan died a hero.” And Veev reiterates she does not want to cancel service for the restaurant.

According to CBS’ official tease for the hour, “Elsbeth investigates the death of a devious kitchen staffer after he causes havoc in New York’s hottest restaurant and enrages one of America’s most revered chefs (Pamela Adlon). Laura Benanti returns as Nadine.”
