Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

THE VOICE: This was one of the best Playoffs in recent years, but also had the most surprising results. Like, of the four artists that made it through, maybe I might have thought one would get through? It’s not saying they were bad, obviously, but the talent was so stacked and I’m just shocked. (Especially about Aliyah Khaylyn, who, as they noted, both paid tribute to Whitney Houston and made her take on “I Have Nothing” her own.)

I was baffled by Simone Biles as an advisor for Team Snoop…until I saw her on the show. Of course the GOAT of gymnastics made this work. How could I have doubted that? It was so lovely to see how the contestants responded to her, too, and how they opened up to her. I hope they don’t repeat this frequently—because I think this was a rare occasion/person where it actually clicked without any musical background—but in this specific case, it really worked.

(Reba was so cute when she got excited she might get a pie out of this coaching deal.)
