About Last Night…FBI, THE VOICE, FBI: INTERNATIONAL, and More

FBI, THE VOICE, FBI: INTERNATIONAL

“Monumental” – After a park ranger is shot dead by a masked assailant on Governors Island, the team discovers a string of connected crimes that leads them to their toughest roadblock yet: an online conspiracy theory community, on FBI, Tuesday, Dec. 10 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs). Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!FBI: Oh, I love how director Eriq La Salle utilized one of my favorite camera tricks he’s done (previously on CHICAGO P.D.) in this FBI.

The episode itself was chilling to watch: We know how many people are susceptible to cults or charismatic people with bad intentions. And watching a man refuse to accept reality, unwilling to believe even his daughter about the truth? Painful. (It was also a bit obvious who was behind it given James Tupper wasn’t going to be around for nothing. But I do wonder if they’ll utilize Jere Burns again.)

I’m also glad we finally got Isobel having her own storyline beyond being frustrated with her subordinates. And we got a nice Isobel/Jubal moment, too.

THE VOICE: This was the top 3 I expected pre-performance finale…I was only confident that Team Bublé would make the Top 3 after the performance finale. A really, really, really deserving Top 2, and I would have been happy for either of them. I’m intrigued to see Sofronio Vasquez’s career going forward!

(Also, oh my God, Reba and Asher crying over his song dedicated to her?! My heart.)

FBI: INTERNATIONAL: Wes and Tyler are going to be interesting to watch together, especially with Tyler now coming in as a member of the team. It’s one thing to reunite as quasi-equals/partners, but now there will be a power differential. I don’t expect Tyler will handle that well.

But a good, solid episode. Really looking forward to seeing the dynamic when it’s not a case Tyler has a personal vested interest in.

(And literally laughed out loud at the end golf scene. IYKYK.)

[For more on the hour, here’s what guest star Jay Hayden shared.]

FBI: MOST WANTED: The writers got me with the twist that one of their bad guys was UC and dirty. Mess, mess, mess. The episode was gorgeously shot, too—the scenes in the warehouse were stunning, visually.

(P.S.-Remy, please get more mature/better friends.)
