FBI International Vo cliffhanger

“You’ll Never See It Coming” – When the star witness in the case against Greg Csonka, the man responsible for the death of Wes’ former partner, is beaten to death in a Budapest prison before he can testify, the Fly Team attempts to salvage the case to secure Csonka’s conviction. As they dive back into the investigation, Mitchell is forced to confront the pain of losing his partner. Meanwhile, Wes assists Booth with preparing for his promotion interviews, on FBI: INTERNATIONAL, Tuesday, Dec. 17 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs). If FBI: INTERNATIONAL fans were gobsmacked when Fly Team’s Cameron Vo (Vinessa Vidotto) was shot and left in critical condition in the fall finale, “You’ll Never See It Coming,” they certainly weren’t alone.

“I was shocked, and I didn’t know [before I read the script]; they didn’t tell me,” Vidotto tells Give Me My Remote with a laugh. “I was like, ‘Okay, it’s my turn. I guess I volunteer as tribute.’”

“But, you know, we’ve had two of our [team members] get shot in the past, Kellett and Smitty,” she continues. “So, I was like, ‘Hey, it’s my turn’…Even Raines, he got his leg smashed when the hub blew up. So everybody gets their tragic moment. And I was like, ‘Yay. Finally, season 4. Let me add to my CV.’”

While Vo’s fate remains very much up in the air in the show’s winter return on Tuesday, January 28, the reaction to the cliffhanger has meant a lot to Vidotto.

“It’s been received well in terms of—I’m sorry!—yeah, it’s heartache and people are like, ‘Are you off the show? What’s going on? Nooo!’ but, sickly, in a way, it warmed my heart,” she says with a laugh. “The reason why it warms my heart [is] because sometimes I’m unsure if the audience feels connected to Vo. I know we’re always on cases, and it’s not so much about personal. And this year, we’re focused on Wes because he’s new to the team and whatnot. And I always think when people are vulnerable and open up, it helps people connect to you and understand you more, and you’re able to relate to them.”

“So, at times, I feel like maybe people aren’t invested in Vo as much,” she continues. “Or don’t feel that way. So when there was that reaction, it was like, ‘Okay, so the audience is still invested.’ That was nice to know.”
