The Office Thursday on Give Me My Remote
December 14, 2006 by Kath Skerry
It’s Thursday, so once again…whatever…you know how we do it around here on Thursdays. You’ll have to forgive the short post today. Just like Dunder Mifflin, my company is also having our Christmas party tonight, and well…the booze is already flowing. So as much as I love Jim, Pam, and the rest of the crew, I also love my Captain Morgan.
LIVE “Office” Chat TONIGHT…
First things first…Yes, Virgina there is a Santa Claus. Yes, friends there WILL be a LIVE Office chat tonight at BuddyTV. Now I can’t guarantee I will be sober, but I will be there to make sure you can all chat away throughout the episode. Since The Office stars at 8/7c tonight, our live chat will start earlier too. So head over to BuddyTV.com at 7:30 EST and chat it up. This is definitely an episode you want to watch with your online Office friends. (Click here to set a reminder for The Office chat at BuddyTV.com)
Tonight on The Office…
Merry Christmas. Ho Ho Ho…Pimp. Christmas might still be a few weeks away, but the folks at Dunder Mifflin are celebrating tonight. Many of you have already read my review of “A Benihana Christmas”, but I know some are avoiding spoilers (more power to you). Tonight’s episode is not to be missed. It’s my personal favorite episode of Season 3. Don’t forget that it starts at 8/7c and it’s a full hour long, so make sure your TiVos are set.
From the desk of Meredith Palmer…
Kate Flannery shares the Christmas spirit in her latest TV Guide blog update. Get the scoop on working with tonight’s special guest director Harold Ramis, and some teases about others who may show up behind the camera this season. Also, will Meredith get nekkid again this holiday season? Guess you’ll have to wait and see. (Kate’s TV Guide Blog)
Jim is chicken, Roy is fish. Pam wants chicken…
I love Jim Halpert, but you know I have a soft spot for Roy 2.0. Well, I guess it’s more about my affection for David Denman. David recently spoke with The Boston Herald and TVGuide.com about how Roy fits into Pam’s life now that Jim is back. I’m not sure if David watches the show, as he still thinks Pam and Roy might end up together. Oh poor David. The TVGuide.com interview is especially good so make sure you check it out.
They like me, they really like me….
Awards season is upon us, and The Office is already starting to rule the nominations. Just this week alone, The Office was nominated for Best Writing for a Comedy by the Writers Guild Association. And Steve Carell and Paul Lieberstein were both nominated for individual writing awards for Casino Night and The Coup, respecitively.
And just this morning, The Office was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Comedy, and Steve was once again nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy, the award he took home last year. Congrats on the well deserved nominations!!!
Spread the Dunder Mifflin spirit…
NBC.com now has The Office eCards that you can send along to your friends. When you care enough to send the very best, make it Dunder Mifflin. (Send an Office eCard)
Show your Office love….
Waiting until the last minute to finish your holiday shopping? Check out all the cool Office merchandise at the GMMR store. In addition to being the perfect present for the TV addict in your life, items such as magnets, stickers, mugs, etc make really great stocking stuffers. (The Office t-shirts and more at the GMMR store)
Another good installment! I’m ready for 8pm (well 7:30) already.
Good girl, lovin the Captain! Merry Christmas, have a great night~
Another great Office Thursday- I’m so excited for tonight! Only about 4 hours left! 😀
Has anyone tried sending the holiday cards on the NBC web site? I can’t input any text in the fields. I click on a field to see if my curser is there but it’s just blank and it’s not acknowledging my clicks at all. Just curious if anyone else has had problems.
Excellent job with all of the info!!! I can’t wait for tonight’s episode. Although, after reading David Denman’s interview, I don’t like the idea that Pam an Roy might actually end up together. That’s definitely not good.
I wish i lived in the east right now! 🙁
Thanks again for Office Thursday. It’s my second favorite part about Thursdays 😉
Two things:
I really wish Yankee Swap was done this year, oh well…Michael’s break up can make up for it.
And, I am SO happy that I live in the east! 1 hour 45 minutes!
another great installment GMMR 🙂
Wow that episode was amazing. I used to like Harold Ramis, but now I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!
That episode really was amazing.
I’m glad to see that sometimes GMMR gets her priorities straight (alcohol > TV). Personally, I decided to be a loser and stay in and watch THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT I COULD HAVE ASKED FOR!
It was everything an Office episode should be.

as a huge fan of both The Office & John Mayer, I must say I felt like a squealy teeny bopper tonight
GMMR – awesome review! I wanted to stay unspoiled so just read it this morning. Hope you had a great time at your Christmas party. I’m still basking in the glow of the the sound of the Halpert wall coming down 🙂
Loved It. Perfect in every way.
“he’s cute. you should date him!” HEEEEEEE my love of karen went up, just in time for jim to realize she’s the rebound. booya.
Oh Kath! I can’t imagine you drinking… ever. Yeah right!
Jo, I too love Karen more and more but damn I felt bad at the end when Jim realized she was the rebound girl. I want only good things for the girl strong enough to take on Angela!
I can’t wait to watch the episode a couple more times to let it sink in. I love The Office!
We just watched it. I loved it when Michael marked the girl that he couldn’t remember. Too funny. I also loved the committees scene. It was so perfect.
Good blog you’ve got here.. It’s difficult to find high quality writing like
yours nowadays. I seriously appreciate people like you! Take care!!
