Happy Sunday! A great night of television to end the week or to kick off the week — all depends on how you look at it . This Sunday is jam packed with fun surprises – Mariah Carey, BONES star David Boreanaz and Jon Hamm from MAD MEN are all showing up in unexpected places tonight. Also, be sure to check out the season finales of THE AMAZING RACE and DEXTER so you know what everyone else is talking about tomorrow.
Here a few highlights from this evening’s TV lineup. We’d love to know what YOU plan on watching…
Desperate Housewives | 8pm on ABC
“Down the Block There’s a Riot”
Paul’s plan for Wisteria Lane goes into effect; Juanita discovers Gaby’s secret; Bree invites Keith to move in with her; Tom is confronted about his past indiscretion.
The Simpsons | 8pm on Fox
“Donnie Fatso”
Homer ends up in the Springfield penitentiary after getting caught bribing an official; an FBI investigator (Jon Hamm) offers Homer a way to reduce his jail time.
The Amazing Race | 8pm on CBS | Season Finale
“Hi. I’m Sorry. I’m in a Race.”
The final three teams head to Southern California to tackle the last leg of the competition; two teams have a chance to make history. One team will walk away with a $1M prize. Brothers & Sisters | 9pm on ABC
“Cold Turkey”
The Walkers are without their matriarch for Christmas when Nora impulsively takes off for a last-minute holiday vacation with Karl. Meanwhile, Saul runs into a former lover (Richard Chamberlain).
Dexter | 9pm on Showtime | Season Finale
“The Big One”
In the fifth-season finale, Dexter smells a trap being set for him and Lumen (Julia Stiles) and pulls out all the stops in an effort to avoid getting caught in it. Elsewhere, personal feelings get in the way of Debra’s investigation into the Barrel Girls; and Quinn gets in a bind from which only Dexter can extricate him.
Family Guy | 9pm on Fox
“Road to the North Pole”
Brian and Stewie have a thing or two to teach Santa Claus about holiday cheer (and they travel to the North Pole to do it) after the jolly old elf gives them the brush-off at the Quahog Mall. David Boreanaz has a voice cameo as himself, as does Ron MacFarlane, father of series creator Seth MacFarlane.
CSI: Miami | 10pm on CBS
“Blood Sugar”
The CSIs investigate when a sugar refinery explodes. The probe uncovers a surprising secret about one of the factory’s employees. [GMMR: This is sure to be a delicious episode. Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.]
The Real Housewives of Atlanta | 10pm on Bravo
“Contract Player”
Kim is more concerned with weight-loss than learning choreography; Sheree receives good news; tension lingers between NeNe and Peter; Cynthia plans to smooth things over

- American Dad | 9:30pm on Fox: Despite Francine’s warning, Stan gives Steve a gun for Christmas; Steve accidentally shoots Santa.
- Shameless | 10pm on Showtime: A sneak peek at the Showtime comedy about a boozy Chicagoan (William H. Macy), the single father to a brood of six children who all appear to have more on the ball than their deadbeat dad. The show is an Americanized version of a British TV series.
