THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: ‘The Last Day’ Teases and Preview

As THE VAMPIRE DIARIES heads towards the end of its second season, the drama is in no way slowing down.

There’s a brand new episode tonight,”The Last Day,” and you will not want to miss it. Damon crosses a major line with someone he cares about, people are kidnapped, there are multiple fights, Tyler returns, lives are in jeopardy, and so much more.

While I can’t spill whether anyone dies in “The Last Day,” TVD executive producer Julie Plec noted there needs to be real stakes for our characters so the audience doesn’t feel jerked around.

“We said from the beginning it’s a vampire show and in vampire shows, stakes are high and the death count has to match that,” she told reporters at a press event. “Because if we don’t follow through on the stakes that we’re setting out to — if you guys don’t believe that the consequences are life and death — then we’re not doing our jobs. And unfortunately, we’ve set into motion — unfortunately for our characters — this ritual that needs a lot of sacrificial elements. And so if that ritual happens and when it happens and how it happens, if it goes off without a hitch, there will be a lot of lost blood. We have to pay off what we set up.”

Yeah, I’m worried, too.
