Smallville’s Producer Speaks

By now I think you all know that I missed the Smallville train, and have never seen the show. But I know that some of you are big fans of the show. And who am I to keep things from you. So in honor of be branching out and trying hard to not make it all about me, I thought I would pass along a link to an interview with Al Gough, executive producer of Smallville. Enjoy!

Here’s a little taste…

With the recent success of the Green Arrow storyline and the hero-laden Justice League episode on Smallville, do you expect additional superhero spin-off series?
There aren’t any plans at the moment. I mean, the Feature Division at Warners has various superheroes in development, and a lot of it is clearing all the rights for those characters. It’s one thing to get them for one episode, but to get them for an entire series is an entirely different thing. Also, I think its an issue for the (CW) network to try and figure out their identity. So I think at this moment, the stars aren’t aligning for us to do that.

How many more seasons of Smallville do you anticipate?
We all feel we have, legitimately, a good two more seasons worth of stories. Then I think it’s time to pack it up to the fortress and go home.
