SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Premieres Tonight

Move aside “Dancing with the Stars”, the REAL dance competition is BACK!! Tonight is the Season 3 premiere of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. For those of you who are new to GiveMeMyRemote.com, last year I found myself deeply, deeply in love with this show. I mean we are talking about watching episodes over and over again, scouring the web for clips of the performers…hell DuckyxDale and I even went to the SYTYCD tour. Oh yes, I was obsessed!
Tonight the show is back for the 90 minute premiere starting at 8/7c on Fox. I’m almost nervous. I loved the show so much last season that I’m afraid that this season could never compare. But really, can there ever be another Jailbait Ivan, BF Travis, or Cousin Heidi? I think not. The new kids will have their own style and maybe, just maybe I’ll love them like I do my Season 2 contestants.
If you’ve never watched SYTYCD you should give it a shot tonight. I’m going to be talking about it a lot on GMMR so you might as well come along with me for the ride. And if you want a taste as to the level of talent you can be prepared for in the coming weeks, then take a look at some of the lightlights of Season 2.

Dang, I wish I had read this post 2.5 hours ago. I didn’t know the show was back! I love it, too. Last season was so much fun!

Ok, so those clips still give me goosebumps, followed by happy tears. I know that some of the pull of American Idol is the ‘growth’ shown by the the contestants (which can suck since it gets the Doolittles of the world kicked off early since they are already professional-grade), but it does not compare in the least to SYTYCD. Since no one is an expert in all types of dance, and you have to learn to depend entirely on a partner, the growth and beauty in this show is unparalleled.
Ok. Fawning over. I will joyfully read and comment with you throughout this season.
And the TV season has officially begun for me!
OK, so I never watched SYTYCD that much before, but holy crap those routines were awesome! That mambo made my jaw hit the floor, and the last one was so beautiful and sensual. Thanks for posting these GMMR, I’m looking forward to S3 now.
Yay, another fan of SYTYCD! My husband and I love this show, we were big fans of Benji’s last year and we are both excited about this year. I’m looking forward to your recaps GMMR! yippee!
Damn you GMMR for making me realize those clips were on youtube! Now I will get nothing done for the rest of the day. I LOVED last season of SYTYCD and I hope this season is even half as good! Infinitely better than Dancing With the Stars (which I can’t even watch…)

I fell in love with this show by chance last year and can’t wait for the new season. But is it wrong I wish they could bring everyone from Season 2 back again? I miss Ivan!
I missed season 1, but got hooked with SYTYCD season 2 and my-see-me-in-10-years, Ivan, so sexy and talented!!! I cried when he was booted.
I wish I had found this site last week because now I have missed the first show;however, you can bet I and my hubby will be glued to the ‘ole boob-tube every Thursday from now on, lol. Just hoping there will be less of Mary’s laugh this year…..is that mean??
I’m also wondering if it’s possible for you to post the season 2 finalé of the “Ramalama Bang,Bang” number,please,please,pleeeeeaaase……..LOVED it!!!!!
