About Last Night…RAISING HOPE, COUGAR TOWN, BREAKING IN and More
March 14, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
Tuesday night is all about the comedies for me — both intentional and otherwise.
Let’s talk about what aired on TV!
Someday soon, I hope you guys realize what a gem RAISING HOPE really is. Loved the Jennifer Aniston joke about all the men who could resist her (and yes, that’s from someone who actually likes her), and the affectionate dig towards MODERN FAMILY. If there was any television justice, the Chances would be as beloved by the masses as the Pritchett-Dunphys are.
There really aren’t enough words to express how much I adored COUGAR TOWN. The episode by itself was just lovely (how romantic was the “Kiss the Girl” serenade?!), but the icing on top of the already delicious cake was the marvelous SCRUBS reunion at the end. Ted’s confusion/horror over seeing non-Elliot (Sarah Chalke, playing Angie on COUGAR TOWN) and non-Jordan (Christa Miller, playing Ellie) was only amped up when Ken Jenkins popped in (he’s Jules’ dad on CT, but his Dr. Kelso was Ted’s worst nightmare) and Zach Braff (JD on SCRUBS) came by to deliver a pizza. It ended when a flustered Ted got a high five from Robert Maschio (Todd on SCRUBS). Amazing, amazing, amazing.
Is it bad that I sincerely hope Andrew gets killed off on RINGER? I never think the show will do it, but something needs to change. Since the faux-rape reveal, it’s alternated between boring and absolutely comical. Not the best atmosphere for what is supposed to be a serious drama.
Episode two of BREAKING IN was much stronger than one, wasn’t it? I’m very curious to see how much of a push-pull there will be between Veronica and Oz this season, since you’d imagine neither one of them would want to concede power, but at the same time, Megan Mullally has been a fun addition to the series so far.
I got behind on SOUTHLAND again, which is frustrating. I heard amazing things about last night’s episode, so I hope to be all caught up by next week’s finale!

I agree that Raising Hope is definitely the best comedy show people aren’t watching! I’m more disappointed when RH is off-air than MF!
