The World Series of Pop Culture Dream Team
July 17, 2007 by Kath Skerry
I hope you’ve all been watching THE WORLD SERIES OF POP CULTURE on VH1. It’s a fun show where people like us are finally rewarded for the tons of useless pop-based trivia floating around in our heads. I mean how many game shows reward you for knowing things that every human on this planet should know, such as all of the series regulars on THE OFFICE, the name of the prison in PRISON BREAK, and the name of Jesse and Rebecca’s twins on FULL HOUSE. How do people expect to get by in life without knowing this information?
If you haven’t yet seen WSOP then click here to find future airings. You’ll get a kick out of it. And if you fancy yourself a pop culture junkie (as I do) be prepared to be humbled.
Oh and I came across this WSOP shout out this morning. Seems like someone thinks that Ducky, The TV Addict and I would be a force to be reckoned with. I agree!!
The World Series of Pop Culture is awesome. And quickly shames me into realizing I’m not as pop versed as I had thought. Although I was proud that I could name more Lost characters than the two on the stage and I’ve never seen an episode. There definitely needs to be a blogger team next year. Can’t you see GMMR, Ducky and The TV Addict up there totally destroying everyone? (Like a Brickstorm, 7/16/07)

I’m all about it. How funny because Kath and I were talking about that last week. I also have insane music and movie knowledge. We’ll test Daniel when we’re in SD for Comic-Con but I also think Rae would be really good as she’s got a ton of other interests as well.
I consider myself quite knowledgeable when it comes to useless pop culture trivia, but then I watch this show and sit there stumped. I’m terrible when it comes to things like…rap music. But anyway, you guys should really try to do it. We want to see you all kicking ass up there next year!
Ducky you should call up Scooter too because he claims it’s too easy. 🙂
That man is a walking music encyclopedia so he’s a good call.
Seriously, I could win that show single handedly. Until then I just have to be content destroying my friends and family at Trivial Pursuit even giving them a two pie handycap.
Scooter, you should pitch a show to VH1 like Stump the Schwab where you could just take on everyone every week.
