ONCE UPON A TIME’s Lana Parrilla: Regina is Most Concerned About Losing Henry to Cora
November 30, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
It takes a lot to truly rattle ONCE UPON A TIME’s Regina, but her mother, Cora, certainly ranks at the top of the list.
“She’s terrified of her mother coming to Storybrooke,” Lana Parrilla (Regina) told reporters on set. “This whole time, Regina [thought] her mother [was] no longer alive. What happens [now]?”
Indeed, that will be the question as Cora is now squarely in control of Aurora…who is with Snow and Emma as they continue on their journey to get home to Storybrooke. But for Regina, even the separation of being in a different world from her mother isn’t quite enough to put her at ease.
“There are a lot of mixed emotions around that [reveal],” Parrilla noted of her character finally finding out about her mother’s presence in fairytale land. “I think number one, she’s terrified of her mother; it’s the worst possible outcome that could happen to her. [The thought of Cora] coming to Storybrooke, she’d just destroy everything and everyone. I think what she’s most concerned about is losing Henry to Cora, because Cora always destroys the things Regina loves most. Her horse, her love, everyone.”
Will Regina’s fears be justified? The ONCE UPON A TIME winter finale airs this Sunday at 8 PM on ABC, so perhaps you may get some additional insight there…
