Exclusive: BONES Star Tamara Taylor Signs on to DATING IN LA AND OTHER URBAN MYTHS
May 3, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
BONES is just about to wrap up shooting on the bonus episodes for season 9, and series star Tamara Taylor has already lined up something to work on during the hiatus: a role on the new web series DATING IN LA AND OTHER URBAN MYTHS!
So what exactly is DATING IN LA AND OTHER URBAN MYTHS? Two of my amazing friends*, Danielle Turchiano (whom I do vodcasts with) and Patricia Steffy (a ridiculously talented/hysterical writer) have teamed up to produce a web series about Kate, a powerful, single woman who has to try to navigate dating in the insanity known as Los Angeles after getting out of a long-term relationship. And to accomplish the web series, Turchiano and Steffy have taken to indiegogo to help get the funds to make this a reality.
Taylor is set to play Sadie, a waitress/wannabe celebrity. Sadie has “a certain moral flexibility and is very matter of fact about what (and who) she wants in life. The fact that she has passed the optimal ‘It Girl’ age has not put a damper on her enthusiasm for the task. She finds Kate’s reluctance to join the Los Angeles social scene puzzling and her attitudes toward sex archaic — and isn’t afraid to tell her just that.”
In addition to Taylor, DATING IN LA AND OTHER URBAN MYTHS is set to star Lesley Fera (PRETTY LITTLE LIARS), Jen Lilley (GENERAL HOSPITAL), Kristoffer Polaha (LIFE UNEXPECTED), and Steffy (who also created the series).
Will you be checking out DATING IN LA AND OTHER URBAN MYTHS? And will you be contributing to the idiegogo campaign?
*Admittedly, I’m a bit biased, but this is a really great project.

As Tamara’s manager I may be perceived as biased too but that would be an uninformed conclusion. She joined the cast for love of the script, Patricia’s prior work, MY LETTER TO FEAR and the people involved. She’s thrilled to do DATING IN LA AND OTHER URBAN MYTHS and I couldn’t agree more. The characters, dialogue and stories told in this series are so relevant, so fresh and funny – so clever, you’ll think you’re reading this generation’s west coast answer to the juggernaut series that once aired on HBO. If they get the directing right you won’t want to miss it. Better yet, make sure we can all see it by pitching in a few bucks before May 28 – That’s what I’m going to do! http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/dating-in-la-and-other-urban-myths?c=home
I think she is a great actor, will definitely check it out. She made bones a much better tv show then it was before she entered.
