SUPERNATURAL: TRIBES Casts Lucien Laviscount and Nathaniel Buzolic

SUPERNATURAL: TRIBES — the upcoming backdoor pilot that will be featured in a later episode of SUPERNATURAL’s ninth season — has cast its first few roles.

Lucien Laviscount will play Ennis, a police academy trainee whose fiancee is killed in the monster-mafia crossfire, and becomes a monster-hunter. Nathaniel Buzolic will play David Hayden, a shapeshifter from a powerful monster family.

So what is SUPERNATURAL: TRIBES about?

“I think what makes it different than other spinoffs is generally you spin characters from an existing show [to a new series],” SUPERNATURAL executive producer Robert Singer noted last summer. “This spinoff, while Sam and Dean get us into [the story], it’s an entirely new cast of characters in a totally new environment. And it’s actually a different concept than SUPERNATURAL: SUPERNATURAL is a road show, this is very urban; it’s a very ensemble cast, and it stays in one place — Chicago — and it’s a little Shakespearean, a little DALLAS.”
