THE FOLLOWING’s Shawn Ashmore: ‘Things Get Dramatically Worse’ For Mike
February 28, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
THE FOLLOWING’s Mike snapped in the last episode, but beating up Luke won’t be the lowest point Mike reaches this season: “Oh my God, things get dramatically worse,” Shawn Ashmore (Mike) laughed.
“I think Mike had the violent outburst, but he knows at the end of the day what he did was wrong,” Ashmore acknowledged. “It was a release of a lot of pain, and a lot of built up trauma from the past season or two.”
Unfortunately, the timing couldn’t be worse.
“Basically, the fallout is [that] Max and Ryan cover for Mike, but Mike decides that maybe he needs to step away,” Ashmore teased. “And I think that’s probably the right thing to do. But through the course of the next episode, he comes back and helps out Ryan in a situation. He’s torn about what’s the right thing to do, but he stays on.”
Now, whether that’s the right choice or not, that’s to be determined…
THE FOLLOWING airs Mondays at 9 PM on Fox.
