What to Watch…Tuesday, January 22, 2008
January 22, 2008 by Kath Skerry
Informal talks between the WGA and AMPTP are taking place today. Sadly, it still could be weeks or months before a deal is reached. If either side needs a little incentive to get positive talks going today, just take a look at my “what to watch” list below. Um, that would be “According to Jim” – hey, beggars can’t be choosers (although they can choose not to watch).

American Idol | 8pm on Fox
The search for the next American Idol continues, but first a number of people who weren’t hugged enough by their parents will attempt to work out their issues on national TV. Paula, Randy and Simon will indirectly mock their pain and suffering. We’ll also see a few people that aren’t tone deaf. Good time.
One Tree Hill | 9pm on The CW
“It’s Alright, Ma (I’m only bleeding)
Brooke forges ahead with the opening of her new store; and Nathan makes an effort to help a difficult high-school basketball player. Meanwhile, Peyton must deal with an increasingly arrogant musician; and Haley rediscovers her interest in music.
According to Jim | 9pm on ABC
“Cheryl Goes to Florida”
With Cheryl out of town to take care of her mother, Jim depends on the kindness of the neighborhood moms for help with the housework and taking care of the kids.
Carpoolers | 9:30pm on ABC
“First Flight”
Dougie’s burning desire to see a concert results in his first fight with Cindy; Leila’s latest idea to boost her career backfires; Laird makes an ill-fated attempt to adopt a pet.
Boston Legal | 1opm on ABC
“Roe Vs. Wade, The Musical”
Shirley and Alan face off in court when they’re on opposite sides of a case involving stolen sperm; Jerry helps his objectophile ex-girlfriend (Mary Gross) when she loses her teaching job for inappropriate contact with a student.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
“Inconceivable”
A robbery at a sperm bank has Benson and Stabler racing to recover fertilized embryos before it is too late. The investigation into a long list of suspects eventually leads to a pair of publicity-seeking extremists.
And as I ask everyday…what will YOU be watching tonight?
Be my Friend? As always, GMMR’s daily “What to Watch” is powered by MeeVee’s interactive TV listings. I’ve just registered over at MeeVee but I don’t have a lot of friends to talk TV with over there. And with all of MeeVee’s TV content, there’s a LOT to talk about!! Will you register and add me as your friend? (username: GMMR). Thanks!!!
