My Favorite SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Routines

There were a few find performances from last night’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, but two really stood out for me.
Chelsie & Mark: Hip Hop…
My favorite routine of the night was Chelsie and Mark’s Hip Hop routine by Napoleon and Tabitha. A great story, a fantastic performance – everything I wanted to see in a dance. These two hit some sick moves with such precision. I think they might be my favorite couple. Too early to call? Maybe. But I am really digging what they’ve been doing.
Katee & Joshua: Rumba…
The other stand out routine for me last night was the Rumba choreographed by Tony & Melanie and performed by Joshua and Katee. Y’all know I’ve been a big fan of Joshua since day one, and he didn’t disappoint last night. The guy is so versatile and has a great personality – just what this competition needs. I, like many of you, have been hesitant to warm up to Katee, but she showed me something last night. The performance was smokin’ hot and I loved every second of it.

These two were easily my favorite performances of the night. I guess they saved the best for last.
I also liked Courtney & Gev’s Rhumba. I believe Josh and Katee did the Samba, but they both look pretty similar to me (including the ladies dresses).
Did anyone else think Chris’ outfit in the jazz routine looked like it was taken straight from last season’s Lion King group routine? Coincidentally also choreographed by Tyce Diorio. What exactly is “jazz” anyway? I definitely don’t picture jazz performed to Marilyn Manson.
Definitely a toss-up between those two for the best of the night. I felt the same about Chelsie and Mark that their hip-hop was similar to Josh and Katee’s hip-hop routine, and I think I like Josh/Katee’s “No Air” better (but just by a smidge). Therefore, my top routine for last night is the smokin’ samba by Joshua and Katee. I cannot believe their moves! Katee sold it completely and Joshua was awesome. I’ve re-watched those last 2 routines over and over and they don’t disappoint!
Going back, I really did like Kourtni and Matt’s routine, along with Twitchington’s. Chris and Comfort had a kick-ass routine laid out for them and they just didn’t feel it. I was happy that the judges said exactly what I was thinking (OK, apologies for all the “I” comments). Continuing..
I love the podcast since ya’ll say pretty much what I’m thinking. When Ducky said “Chris and Jessica” at the exact same time as I did for the two possibly going home…well, there ya go. It’s Chris for sure (I love Thayne’s solo’s, but haven’t liked any of his partner routines yet) and either Comfort or Jessica.
Top 3:
1. Katee/Joshua samba
2. Chelsie/Mark hip hop
3. Kourtni/Matt contemporary
Bottom 3:
Will/Jessica disco
Chris/Comfort jazz
Chelsie/Thayne quickstep
As I’m writing the bottom three I immediately wrote Courtney and Gev for their samba. I’m not lovin’ him. So if they are in the bottom three, I think Will and Jessica will be safe. Maybe it will be Chris and Chelsie going? Thayne and Comfort together? What if it was Gev and Comfort who go home and then we have Chris and Courtney? I’d really like to see them together to find out if Chris can have chemistry with somebody.
Anyway….love the show & love the podcast!
I only caught the second hour of the show, but since the last two dances were the best, I wasn’t disappinted.
I really didn’t want to like Katie because of her not knowing if she’d try out again if she didn’t make it this season attitude, but she’s really proving herself.
Mark and Chelsie are definitely my favorite couple!
Oh no, ish! Don’t put poor Courtney with Chris. LOL I’m so mean.
