THE FLASH: Mark Hamill to Reprise The Trickster
December 8, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
THE FLASH has recruited another star from the original CBS series: STAR WARS’ Mark Hamill.
Hamill — who played James Jesse (AKA The Trickster) in the ’90s FLASH series (a photo of his first go-round as The Trickster to the left) — will bring a “new interpretation” of the role to The CW’s hit. In THE FLASH, “The Trickster is an anarchist terrorist con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry (Grant Gustin) and Det. West (Jesse L. Martin) to foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original’s deadly footsteps.” Hamill will appear in the 17th episode of THE FLASH’s first season.
“Having Mark reprise his role as The Trickster was on our original wish list when we were planning our version of THE FLASH,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement to HitFix, which was first to report the casting news. “Christmas and Chanukah came early for us this year when he said yes! We are beyond humbled and excited to have him joining us for another round of deadly trickery!”
