What to Watch…Friday, July 18, 2008
July 18, 2008 by Kath Skerry
You gotta love some solid Friday night TV, and that’s just what we have tonight with the season premieres of MONK, PSYCH and the new CBS drama, FLASHPOINT. You should probably stop what you’re doing and go set the TiVo now so you don’t forget. I’ll wait.
(whistle…whistle…whistle)
You done? Good.
Monk | 9pm on USA | Season Premiere
“Mr. Monk Buys a Horse”
An obsessive-compulsive detective on psychiatric leave from his job as a police detective seeks redemption by working as a freelance investigator. Still reeling from his wife’s tragic murder, he finds satisfaction in using his talents to solve crime.
Flashpoint | 10pm on CBS
A distraught father tries to get his dying daughter a heart transplant, even if it means putting his own life at risk. When the team is called in, Parker shares his feelings about his own child in an effort to ease the intense situation. [GMMR: I wasn’t around last Friday and totally forgot to record the premiere. This isn’t normally my kind of show but it’s Keith Mars and I signed an oath to always support ex-Martians in whatever their endeavors.] Check out a scene from tonight’s episode:
Psych | 10pm on USA
“The Ghost in You”
Family conflict arises between Shawn and his dad when Shawn’s mom suddenly returns after a years-long absence; Shawn stages a haunting in Gus’s boss’s house in order to drum up more business for the agency, threatening Gus’s job.
Don’t forget…
If you haven’t already entered the PYSCH/MONK giveaway on GMMR then you better get on it. You only have until July 31st. It’s a really great prize. Click here: Enter to Win a PSYCH/MONK Prize Pack

Wow, a nice change for Friday. I actually have three shows on at the same time that I want to watch. I will be watching Doctor Who while I record Monk and Flashpoint. I haven’t checked out the first episode of Flashpoint yet, but I recorded it and want to give it a chance.
My most anticipated show of the night though is Psych. I have been impatiently waiting for it to return.
