Lacey Schwimmer on DANCING WITH THE STARS

Shut the front door! Lacey Mae Schwimmer is the latest pro to be added to the DANCING WITH THE STARS lineup. When the 7th season kicks off on September 22nd, Lacey will be paired up with amateur dancer (but not really since he has worked with some of the top choreographers in the country) Lance Bass.
Say it ain’t so! Lacey what are you doing to be me, girl? You know how I love my SYTYCD alums, but I don’t think I could watch DANCING WITH THE STARS…not even for a Schwimmer. Sorry, but I have my standards.
As for the rest of the DANCING WITH THE STARS pairings, they are as follows:

• Kim Kardashian, TV personality, 27, and reigning DWTS champ Mark Ballas
• Maurice Green, Olympic gold medalist track and field star, 34, and two-time DWTS champ Cheryl Burke
• Misty May-Treanor, Olympic gold medalist beach volleyball player, 31, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
• Susan Lucci, Emmy-award winning soap opera actress, 61, and Tony Dovolani
• Jeffrey Ross, 42, comedian, and Edyta Sliwinska
• Cody Linley, 18, actor, and two-time DWTS champ Julianne Hough

Um, does the inclusion of Ted McGinely mean that the show will be canceled soon? Will the Curse of McGinely work its magic once more? I’m assuming Susan Lucci will make it to the finals. Never underestimate the passion and loyalty of soap opera fans. Think back to Season One and Kelly Monaco’s “win”. Who is Cody Linley and why is he considered a star? Two Olympians? And one of them isn’t even Sir Phelps?
I know this is a huge show and many of you watch…I just don’t know why.

Cody Linley (and I’m so sad to admit that I knew this without looking it up) is on Hannah Montana. He plays this child actor who has an on and off relationship with Miley.
Now I’m going to go back into hiding for divulging that info…
I will be watching even though I vowed never again mid-way through the last season. Lacey Schwimmer is one of my favorite people ever and I’ve gotta support her.
I am not quite so against DWTS as you are, but I had decided not to watch it again and that it is a true waste of time (and talent…). But, alas, I must support my SYTYCDancers, and will force myself one more time around. Maybe she will be more popular with the public on DWTS than she was in her season of SYTYCD. Poor girl…
I’m in the same boat as others…I just said to my friend, “those bastard producers just figured out how to get me to watch again, haha”. kathie- to (sort of) answer your question about why we watch the show, my family actually really likes some of the pro dancers- my favorite being cheryl burke & my mom loves alec & edyta, who happened to be married & are gorgeous & awesome. i enjoy them too, but i think cheryl is amazing & i love watching her. so i’m a loyal SYTYCD watcher, but i have to admit- i really just enjoy watching great dancing & i guess i feel like even though some of the “stars” suck, my enjoyment mostly comes from watching them all interact & the pros carrying the “stars” all over the place, ha. the past few years, i’ve only watched until cheryl & her partner got the boot but now that lacey is added to the mix (and i really love the misty may-treanor/maksim pairing, i’ll be a regular viewer…oh well, ha. whoops- that was long :o)
I agree with what Carly Jaye says. If for no other reason to watch Maks, that is why you should watch DWTS!!! He wasn’t on last season and it wasn’t the same.
I was off-put by the list of “stars” but after hearing about Lacey I have a huge change of heart. I think more and more people are watching just for the pro dancers now since they are the constants on the show. I wish Karina would take a season or 3 off, though.
Why would they have an 82-year old, I mean seriously? They will praise her just for walking down the stairs when they introduce her.
There are some really good pairings when you look at them. Kym and Warren Sapp could be good, Maks and Misty, Maurice and Cheryl (I’m calling an early fave since the guys get all the votes), Julianne Hough and the kid will also be around a long time.
Lacey is probably bummed that she doesn’t get some hot straight guy that she can fall all over and flirt with like she did with Danny (Go team Dancey!). I’ll be voting for her regardless ’cause we’ve gotta show the power of SYTYCD fans! They need to have it on twice a yearlike they do DWTS.
Not trying to convince you to start watching DWTS, but your reasoning for not watching confuses me. Yes SYTYCD dancers are way better than DWTS. But honestly, whats the difference between DWTS and American Idol? The talent on American Idol isn’t that great either. Think about, Sanjaya was terrible and a lot others were too (so bad I can’t recall there names). And for the so called ‘winners’ of American Idol most of them don’t really have careers with the exception of a few. And I am not trying to come off mean or anything like that because we all have are right of an opinion (Heck, I will admit that DWTS is corny and I was for sure it was getting canceled after it’s first episode), but I guess after hearing your dislike of the show I am trying to get a better understanding of why.
I watched DWTS for 2 season. The first season and then the season with Drew Lachey (S2). But then I started watching SYTYCD and I found myself unable to find any joy in these stars trying to get through the dances. I understand that the SYTYCD kids are somewhat professionals and the “stars” aren’t and therefore shouldn’t be expected to be great, but I just find them so bad that its unappealing…to me.
I really love experiencing not just the dancing on SYTYCD but the choreography, the music…everything. I just don’t find the fun in DWTS. But I know others do (including my family) so it’s all good 🙂

I’m pretty sure it’s because Lauren isn’t a ballroom dancer like Lacey is..?
But I agree with the top comments, I don’t even like DwTS, but hearing about Lacey just got me. So I’ll for sure be watching and supporting this season. Best of luck to her!
I’d rather see Lauren too, but she’s not a ballroom dancer…what about Pasha?!!
Sorry to say, I am very disappointed.
I quit voting when Emmitt Smith won…the man could NOT dance! Of course men win the competition, they have professional partners…a professional female dancer can make any man look good…it’s called back leading. Woman on the other hand, have a much harder time looking professional…after all…who looks at the guy anyway?
From what I’ve seen so far, the judges have already picked favorites, so look for Toni Braxton or Brooke Burke to take home that silver ball. This show has become a farce now, a popularity contest not based on any real dancing ability. As for SYTYCD, Pasha and Dimitry would have been great choices for DWTS.
Lacey Schwimmer looks like a dude! Are you sure she was born a female? Man, that is just gross!
