Prime Video Sets HOMECOMING Series Premiere
July 20, 2018 by Marisa Roffman
HOMECOMING—the new drama from MR. ROBOT’s Sam Esmail—will bow on Friday, November 2 on Prime Video, Amazon Studios announced during its Comic-Con panel.
The series, which is based on the podcast by the same name, follows Heidi Bergman (Roberts), a “caseworker at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center, a Geist Group facility helping soldiers transition back to civilian life.” Years later, Heidi has a new life, but she starts to get questioned about why she left the facility. It’s only then that “Heidi begins to realize that there’s a whole other story behind the story she’s been telling herself.”
During the panel, Esmail said the show will be true to the podcast…to an extent.“[Fans are] not getting a whole different world,” Esmail said, noting that he loved what the original team did. However, the series “does diverge from what the podcast did.”
HOMECOMING also stars Sissy Spacek, Stephan James, Bobby Cannavale, Shea Whigham, Jeremy Allen White, Alex Karpovsky, and Dermot Mulroney.
