TIMELESS: NBC Orders a Two-Hour Movie

Good news for TIMELESS fans—NBC has officially closed a deal for a wrap-up movie. The two-hour film is set to air during the holidays.
This is just the latest chapter in TIMELESS’ roller coaster journey. The drama was canceled in 2017 after it’s first season, and then NBC quickly reversed it a few days later. The series was then axed again in June, and though it was shopped to other outlets, no one jumped in to save the show. (Spoiler alert: TIMELESS’ second season ended on a cliffhanger, as future versions of Lucy and Wyatt showed up to help save Rufus.)
“We’re excited to tell one final chapter to this incredible story,” said Lisa Katz, Co-President, Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment, in a statement. “A huge thank you to all – our cast, crew, producers and partners at Sony – who have worked so very hard, and to the fans who kept us on our toes and made sure we did our very best week after week.”
“While we wish we could’ve made another dozen seasons of TIMELESS, this is the next best thing,” added co-creators Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke. “We’re thrilled to take the Lifeboat out for one last spin and bring closure to our story. The studio, network, cast and crew are all doing this for one reason only: the fans. Because they deserve it. Because the fans made this happen and we thank them for their passion, support and helicopters. So? You guys want to get Rufus back or what?”

I have to say, wifey and I are both thrilled that the show is going to get a nice wrap-up! So many shows that we have loved over the years, would just end, and that after a season or two when boom(!), cancellation. So, we are glad for the final journey of the lifeboat!
