CHICAGO FIRE’s Annie Ilonzeh and Kara Killmer on Their New Partnership
September 24, 2018 by Marisa Roffman
CHICAGO FIRE will have a new partnership in Ambulance 61 when season 7 kicks off.
Brett (Kara Killmer) is struggling to find a new dynamic that works post-Dawson (Monica Raymund), but things change when she’s paired with Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh).
“I want sisterhood,” Ilonzeh told reporters in the video below. “Brett, although she’s a little reluctant, eventually she lets me in. I think it’s great. I think anything that’s worth having, which is this partnership, this friendship, this family-ship is worth fighting for. Brett fights against her guard that is up, and I fight for the friendship.”
“I like that the writers allowed this to be a very slow burn,” Killmer added. “Everyone is dealing with the void that’s left by Dawson…Brett is very resistant to welcoming anyone new in. The writers did a good job of drawing out the slow melt of her getting used to Emily and having some kinship with her.”
