SUPERNATURAL’s Jared Padalecki on Bringing His (Not So) Real Life to Screen in “The French Mistake”

Comments Off on SUPERNATURAL’s Jared Padalecki on Bringing His (Not So) Real Life to Screen in “The French Mistake”

SUPERNATURAL star Jared Padalecki had an interesting acting challenge in a recent episode –  he got to play himself…kind of.

If you’re not a fan of SUPERNATURAL (and may I just ask…um, why not?!) Padalecki stars as Sam Winchester on the hit CW show, but in a recent episode titled “The French Mistake”, his character Sam was sent to an alternative universe in which he was an actor named Jared Padalecki – the star of a show called SUPERNATURAL. To make matters even more bizarre, Sam had to play Jared who in turn had to play a character named Sam Winchester.

Mind blown yet?  Well it wouldn’t be if you were watching the show (see how I did that?)

Just prior to taking the stage for the SUPERNATURAL panel at Sunday’s Paley Festival, I caught up with Jared and asked him about the personal details of his life that made their way into the episode.  As you’ll see in the video below, Padalecki had a lot of fun with the episode and seemed game to play along.

Stay tuned to GIVE ME MY REMOTE for more videos and updates from the SUPERNATURAL PaleyFest ’11 Panel including red carpet interviews with Jensen Ackles, Jim Beaver, Ben Edlund, Misha Collins and more.

HOUSE ‘Get Happy’ Dance Number by Mia Michaels

HOUSE got a little dash of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE tonight when choreographer Mia Michaels brought her talents to the show in this haunting musical number featuring the vocal stylings of Hugh Laurie and Lisa Edelstein.

That number certainly had Mia Michaels’ signature all over it.  Loved it!

Charlie Sheen Fired From TWO AND A HALF MEN

March 7, 2011 by
Filed under #1 featured, TV News, Two and a Half Men

It’s not like we all didn’t see this coming, but now it is official.  Charlie Sheen, TV highest paid actor, has officially been fired from his hit show TWO AND A HALF MEN.

Warner Bros Television just released a statement confirming Sheen’s dismissal.

“After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services from `Two and A Half Men’ effective immediately.”

What isn’t yet known is the fate of TWO AND A HALF MEN.  Will the show continue without Sheen?

Pure speculation on my part, but perhaps the writers figured out a workaround so the show to continue without Sheen.  Despite his recent (and not so recent) public antics, TWO AND A HALF MEN is still a huge money maker for Warner Bros and I can’t imagine dismissing Sheen without a semblance of a backup plan in place to keep the show on the air.  But again, pure speculation.

Do you think TWO AND A HALF MEN will continue without Charlie Sheen?  Will it remain the #1 comedy or will the show not work without Sheen?

TRUE BLOOD Spoilers and Scoop from Paley Fest ’11

You’ll have to forgive me if I’m a little hard of hearing today.  Last night I attended the Paley Festival’s TRUE BLOOD panel, and with all the screeching for hot vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, and yes, humans – my ears are still ringing.

TRUE BLOOD fans packed the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills in the hopes of getting some scoop on the upcoming Season 4 of the hit HBO show. A “little” scoop is what they got.  Creator Alan Ball watched closely over his cast who seemed very well rehearsed as to what they were and were not allowed to spill. Anna Paquin (Sookie) was the most tight lipped and admittedly talked in circles to avoid answering any S4 questions directly. Oh Sookie, if only we could read her thoughts.

But that’s not to say there weren’t a few spoilers spilled – some during the panel and some to me directly as I got the chance to interview some of the cast on the red carpet before the event.

Here are some of the highlights from last night’s panel including some scoop from season 4 of TRUE BLOOD. More from my interviews coming soon.

AMERICAN IDOL Top 12 Guys Performance Recap

After all the drawn out drama surrounding the announcement of the new judges and the wild speculation about what the show would look like without Simon Cowell’s distinctive and defining voice, I wasn’t all that excited about AMERICAN IDOL this season.  Last year’s lackluster contestants had me all but walking away after being a loyal and dedicated fan since season one.  But given my history with the show, I had to give it one more shot.  So I tuned in, and I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that right away I felt the new energy.  It was palpable.

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler certainly contributed to the new dynamic, and hell, even Randy Jackson seemed to be stepping up his game, but I also think the producers deserve some credit for taking the opportunity and really making the best of it. The audition shows had better pacing and the subsequent rounds felt a bit more grounded.

But the auditions and Hollywood Week are over and the real show starts tonight as the top 12 guys take to the IDOL stage for the first time for your votes.

For those of you who are new to the weekly GIVE ME MY REMOTE IDOL recaps, I’m a ‘blog as you watch’ kind of gal.  I take in each performance and then jot down my thoughts before they can be influenced by the judges.  That way I can share my authentic feelings.  Not to say that I won’t change my mind after a few viewings of a performance, but what you’ll be reading is my gut reaction.  Sometimes we’ll agree and other times you’ll be wrong (ha!) but either way, I am glad we’ll be watching AMERICAN IDOL together this season.

Tune in to GIVE ME MY REMOTE every Thursday when we LIVE blog the results show.  (Note: Keep an eye out on Twitter [@gmmrTV] for an announcement from me about this Thursday’s live blog.  I’m going to be up in the air on a flight to Los Angeles during the show, but as long as I can get the internet, which I think I can, I should be able to watch and blog).

Next week we’re going to have a special IDOL blog as I’ll be in the audience for the Thursday night performance taping.  My very first IDOL experience…I can’t wait!

Ok enough already…let’s get to the performances. Here’s my take on each of the guys. Then it’s YOUR turn.

Clint Jun Gamboa
1-866-IDOLS-01
This kid has a voice, a serious voice, but somehow I’m never really blown away.  Maybe I’m distracted by those glasses. Hmm.  His performance of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstitious” was exactly what I expected from him and I’m not sure that’s a good thing.  While the song is a classic, it’s classically overdone on the IDOL stage.  It’s worn out.  Hoping he picks a more contemporary song next week.

Jovany Barreto
1-866-IDOLS-02
“I’ll Be” your wedding singer.  I know it’s a myth that the IDOL singers can pick any song they want from week to week, but I’m stunned that Jovany thought this song was the best way to represent himself to the voting audience on the first true night of competition.  The vocals were ok, but he didn’t inspire me to pick up the phone and vote.

Zachary Levi Sings at the Oscars (Video)

In a moment that was surely the highlight of this year’s Academy Awards for CHUCK fans everywhere, CHUCK star Zachary Levi joined Mandy Moore on stage to perform their duet “I See the Light” from Disney’s “Tangled”.

Check out Zac and Mandy’s Oscar performance.

I’m not sure who was filled with more nervous energy, Zac or me? When it was Best Song time my heart was beating out of my chest. I knew Zach would be fantastic, the boy can sing, but I was just so excited for his performance. He killed it!

For those of you who didn’t realize that Zachary was so musically inclined, then clearly you’ve never had the pleasure of visiting the set of CHUCK. Spend a little time listening between takes and you’ll hear Zac belting out show tune, the Beatles, you name it, he sings it. More often than not, he’ll get his co-stars in on the action, too. It’s quite the musical set.

For those of you who weren’t aware of Zac’s musical inclinations, check out “Terrified”, Zac’s duet with Katherine McPhee. It’s one of my favorite songs of this year.

Congrats to Zac on your fantastic Oscar performance!

Thanks to ZacharyLeviFan.com for the video.
