Carrying a heavy golf bag filled with flags weighted for how much they lost each week, each player races from hole to hole, dropping the flags along the way and reminding themselves just how far they’ve really come. Also, the contestants get to make calls to eliminated players to see how they’ve been doing at home, and later, they have their final last chance workout at the ranch with the trainers. Then one last weigh-in determines who the two definite finalists will be – and which two contestants fall below the dreaded yellow line, leaving America to vote which one will be the third finalist to compete for the grand prize of $250,000.

MODERN FAMILY Recap: ‘Good Cop, Bad Dog’

We’re so close to the end of the season of MODERN FAMILY, I feel like every episode should be knocking it out of the park at this point and I just wasn’t in love with this one. This season has been so up and down for me, so maybe y’all can convince me at the end of this recap that I’m crazy and this episode was better than I’m thinking, OK? Let’s get to it!

The majority of this episode was concentrated on Claire and Phil, so I think that may be why it wasn’t my favorite. The two of them are so neurotic and anxious, they make me nervous watching them, which in turn makes them my least favorite couple on the show. I guess that’s a testament to the actors’ ability to portray them, because every interview I’ve seen with Ty Burrell (Phil) and Julie Bowen (Claire), they seem like lovely people.

Tonight also marks the return of Jesse St. James, in the first of his three scheduled appearances.

Comments Off on MODERN FAMILY Recap: ‘Mother’s Day’

Thank you, MODERN FAMILY, for airing a Mother’s Day episode because I had completely forgotten it’s this Sunday (for real)! And now I know exactly what I’m not getting my mom — a hiking trip!

Yes, Claire decides it’s a good idea for her and Gloria to go hiking with the kids. How did she think that was going to end, with rainbows and butterflies for all? No, none of those kids like hiking and I don’t blame them. I probably would have been complaining the whole time, too, about being hot and the imminent threat of coyotes (because if there’s one thing to worry about in my part of Texas, it’s coyotes. Okay, not really — our equivalent is alligators).
