MODERN FAMILY Recap: ‘Two Monkeys and a Panda’
March 3, 2011 by Haylee Fisher
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I love when MODERN FAMILY mixes their hilarious brand of comedy with real family poignancy and last night’s episode was a great example of that.
I also loved that all three families received practically equal airtime this week. After the past two weeks seemingly being all about Phil and Claire, it was nice to venture in to Cameron-and-Mitchell-land and, to a lesser extent, Jay-and-Gloria-land.
TOP CHEF: ALL STARS Preview

With only five chefs left, the competition is reaching a boiling point on TOP CHEF: ALL STARS (I apologize for that terrible pun).
This week, the contestants’ families come for a visit. Sweet! But wait, are Mike and Antonia related? We’ll just have to watch the episode to find out.
In tonight’s Quickfire Challenge, the cheftestants must cook on a ferry bound for Ellis Island using only the food and equipment found on board and they aren’t too happy about it. But if any chef can make a great dish out of nacho cheese and hot dogs, it’s these guys! Hopefully the Elimination Challenge proves to be less stressful…
Check out some previews for tonight’s episode and let us know who you are rooting for!

MODERN FAMILY is at it again with their hilarious Oscar promos.
After sweeping last year’s family charades game, Cameron and Mitchell aren’t too happy about being put on different teams. But can they still lead their respective teams to victory?

MODERN FAMILY Recap: ‘Regrets Only’

No one was happy on MODERN FAMILY last night. From Phil having no idea what he and Claire were fighting about, to Jay throwing a spoon in the garbage disposal, so he didn’t have to hear Gloria sing with her new karaoke machine, to Cameron being livid that Mitchell didn’t send the invitations to his party, it was not the night you would want to spend with them in real life.
TOP CHEF: All Stars Preview: Paula Deen Visits
February 23, 2011 by Haylee Fisher

Hey guys! The queen of “more butter, y’all!,” Paula Deen, is making an appearance on TOP CHEF: ALL STARS tonight! The cheftestants must impress Paula with their best deep-fried dish during the Quickfire Challenge. I don’t know about you, but I can smell the grease and can feel my arteries clogging from here!
In the Elimination Challenge, the chefs help a good cause by cooking up dishes to benefit fishermen of the Gulf Coast region. John Besh, owner and executive chef of Restaurant August in New Orleans, serves as the special guest judge. That shouldn’t prove to be too hard, since he’s served as both a judge and a contestant on TOP CHEF in the past.
Check out the previews below and let us know if you’ll be tuning in tonight!

Tonight on CHUCK, Chuck and Sarah’s romantic Valentine’s Day plans are put on hold when the gang is sent to a masquerade ball in England to protect an oil baron’s daughter. But who exactly is this heiress, played by THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Lauren Cohan? Could she be the key to taking down Volkoff once and for all? You’ll just have to watch the episode to find out.
Elsewhere, another new character is introduced tonight -– Jane Bentley (Robin Givens). She’s a mysterious stranger who makes “bartender” Casey a compelling offer; but is it an offer he can’t refuse?
Watch the preview below and let us know – will you be attending CHUCK’s masquerade tonight?
MODERN FAMILY Recap: ‘Princess Party’
February 17, 2011 by Haylee Fisher

Is it just me, or have there been a lot of birthdays on MODERN FAMILY lately? It seems like just the other day we were celebrating Manny’s birthday and mini-crisis over getting older and now here we are celebrating Lily’s birthday and Cameron’s mini-crisis over not being able to be Fizbo at the party!
Speaking of Fizbo, as I mentioned last week, I only started watching MODERN FAMILY this year, so I didn’t get to experience him the first time around. But I can see why Cam wanted to bring him back. I loved him trying to convince Mitchell that Fizbo could be a court jester at Lily’s princess-themed party in his terrible British accent. Here’s hoping we’ll see more Fizbo, maybe at yet another birthday party.
GLEE Recap: ‘Comeback’

GLEE aired their much-anticipated (by tween girls) Justin Bieber episode Tuesday night, but considering all the hype about featuring the Biebs, they only sang two of his songs. And we didn’t see the Warblers at all, which was disappointing – they’re my new obsession.
Last week’s love-triangle-filled Valentines episode didn’t feature Sue at all, but boy, she was back this week in full force. I didn’t like her “Sue-icide” at the beginning, though – I thought it was a little dramatic, even for her. Plus, hasn’t she used the “SpongeHair SquareChin” line on Will before?
And of course she was trying to pit New Directions against each other! Joining glee club to find meaning in her life, my foot! Why would they expect anything less?
MODERN FAMILY Recap: ‘Bixby’s Back’

Before we get started, I want to congratulate MODERN FAMILY on their recent SAG Award and Writer’s Guild Award wins! Because the show has been in repeats, I haven’t been able to mention it, but I wanted to make sure I got to it this week.
Speaking of being off the air for two weeks, I may have forgotten how to do this. Let’s get started and see how I do!
It’s Valentine’s Day and every family has a reservation at the same restaurant, Ibiza. Seems a little far-fetched to me. But whatever, it’s a TV show.
Not Watching The Super Bowl? Check Out The Rest of What’s on TV Tonight

That little thing called the Super Bowl is on TV today. Who knew, right? But for those of you who couldn’t care less about the Packers or the Steelers, aren’t Black Eyed Peas fans, and don’t want to sit around waiting for the commercials, there’s still a ton of TV to choose from!
Before we talk about Super Bowl alternatives, let’s not forget that following the game is a brand new episode of GLEE.
Glee | 10:30ish (Post-Super Bowl) on Fox
“The Sue Sylvester Shuffle”
Coach Bieste and Mr. Schuester plot to bring the warring glee club and football team together; Sue desperately tries to win cheerleading Nationals; New Directions tackles Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
Here’s our guide to help you out:
TV MARATHONS
- Law and Order | Starting at 4 AM on TNT
- Law and Order SVU | Starting at 10 AM on USA
How will you ever be able to choose between the classic Law and Order and SVU? I’m a little partial to Detective Stabler myself, but you have hours and hours to decide your favorite.
- Jerseylicious | Starting at 6 AM on Style
Style, this just looks like you are counter programming to MTV who is showing Jersey Shore later in the day. But on the plus side, people will have plenty of choices when it comes to Jersey ridiculousness.
- Ghost Hunters | Starting at 9 AM on Syfy
- Ghost Adventures | Starting at noon on Travel Channel
Any excuse is a good excuse to be scared s***less…especially if the excuse is to skip football. And goodie, you get to pick your scary flavor between Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures!
- Jersey Shore/Teen Mom 2 | Starting at 11 AM on MTV
You can watch people fighting, screaming, arguing, crying and pulling each other’s hair, or you can watch the Jersey Shore and Teen Mom 2 marathon.

GLEE: Darren Criss Serenades Ellen DeGeneres

Oh, Darren Criss, how you make me swoon.
Criss, who plays Blaine on GLEE, made an appearance on THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW Wednesday to talk about how he got his start and the effect of playing a gay teen on television. More importantly, however, he sang Ellen a song he wrote just for her.
Ladies, how many of you would like to be in Ellen’s place and have Darren write a song for you? Yeah, I thought so.
Watch the video below and swoon along with me.

To celebrate the return of GLEE after the Super Bowl, the cast (and characters!) have a few suggestions on how to throw a party even Kurt would be jealous of.
Who knew Matthew Morrison was such a whiz with a crock pot? Or that Heather Morris, unlike her character Brittany, actually knows how to read a recipe for tasty Peanut Butter Balls? Check out the video below to hear them share the details of those treats, plus Cory Monteith, Jane Lynch, and Naya Rivera talk about their signature dishes.
Modern Family: ‘Caught in the Act’

Filed under #1 featured, Modern Family
Who else watched MODERN FAMILY this week instead of AMERICAN IDOL? I don’t know about you, but I’d rather hang out with the Pritchett family than Ryan and the (over-hyped) new judges any day.
Unfortunately, the classic sitcom misunderstanding was once again used on the show this week. I hope they get out of that habit soon because the writers are better than that. Still, it was funny…
MODERN FAMILY: ‘Our Children, Ourselves’

I tuned into MODERN FAMILY on time and freaked out when I realized the president had pre-empted the show! You too? Yeah, this recap is for those of you who thought we were only going to see 10 minutes of our favorite family this week…
Who else was excited to have Mary Lynn Rajskub (24) guesting? She and Jesse Tyler Ferguson were on LOPEZ TONIGHT a few days ago and previewed some clips, which got me pretty pumped for the episode. She didn’t get to show off her comedic side on 24 too often, but the woman needs to do more comedy. She was perfect as Mitchell’s former girlfriend, Tracy (Yes, girlfriend! Who knew?!) and possible baby mama.
