THE GLEE PROJECT Finale Recap

August 21, 2011 by

After ten weeks of exhausting competition, it all came down to tonight when the winner of THE GLEE PROJECT was announced! Before we discuss who won, though, we need to talk about everything else that happened in this jam-packed episode!

As always, it started out with the homework assignment. The contestants sang “Don’t Stop Believin’” for Ryan Murphy. When he stopped them at the beginning of the performance saying he wasn’t too impressed, I was nervous for them. But when he brought out the former contestants, I “awww”-ed out loud! I also thought it was cute they decided to dress in red as a tribute to tribute to the pilot of GLEE. Although they sounded perfectly acceptable and all twelve contenders’ voices blended, as I mentioned a few weeks ago, it’s a GLEE song you don’t touch. You could tell they had fun with it and that’s all that counts.

Can you believe we only have one more week of THE GLEE PROJECT? Next week is the finale and I keep debating about whom I want to win (Samuel! No, Damian! Oh, but why can’t Cameron come back?) because all of these kids are so talented! But before we get too ahead of ourselves, we have to discuss this week’s episode!

The theme was “Generosity” and the special GLEE guest mentor was Kevin McHale (Artie), who could not be cuter if he tried. The contestants sang “Lean on Me” for their homework assignment and for once, I agreed with the winner – Lindsay! After that, Kevin announced they would be singing “Sing” by My Chemical Romance (which I loved when they performed it on GLEE) for their music video shoot and performing with instruments – which it turned out only Samuel knew how to play – and a few very special guests. I thought this episode started off on a great foot because of all of that, so let’s touch on the highs and lows of the rest of it:

There’s drama galore tonight, with the second episode of BACHELOR PAD and the series premiere of the new ABC Family show THE LYING GAME. Plus, our regular Syfy favorites are on, like Eureka (boo, cancellations!) and Warehouse 13 (yay, renewals!).

Bachelor Pad | 8pm on ABC
“Episode 202”
After the shocking events of the Season Premiere, Kasey and Vienna continue to aim the target at Jake Pavelka’s back. In the second challenge, “Target on My Back,” each woman will be asked a series of questions, for example, “Who’s least deserving of the $250,000?” She’ll answer by throwing paint-soaked balls at a target on one of the guy’ backs; points will be allotted for each target hit. Then the men will turn the tables on the women, and the man and woman accumulating the most points will be declared winners of the challenge. Awaiting the winners are 3-on-1 dates to a haunted hospital or a night on a private yacht, while the other contestants plot, manipulate and connive their way to avoid being voted off.

Eureka | 8pm on Syfy

When things start melting around Eureka, Carter and Allison discover something is literally eating through Global Dynamics. Meanwhile, Carter talks to Allison about her mental state. Ming Na guest stars.
