MONK, the critically acclaimed original series starring Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG award winner Tony Shalhoub premieres its seventh season on USA Network on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 9/8c. Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated character actor Hector Elizondo will portray Dr. Neven Bell in the seventh season as Adrian Monk’s (Shalhoub) much-needed therapist. I LOVE Psych! Even though I’ve caught up through season 2, I really want the DVDs so I can listen to the commentaries. I can’t wait for Friday! It’s slowly become one of my favorite shows on tv.
Monk has its merits too. It’s a little meh for me but if it’s on, I just sit through it because it’s breezy.
Am a Monkaholic from S1 (have been a Shalhoub fan since Wings, now that makes me old) and am now a Psychofficianado as of last season. Would love to win but I’d be inclined to donate it to be sent to the troops in either Iraq or Afganistan.
I love Psych! They have one of the best comedic duos on television. I would love to win the DVD to hear the commentaries and hopefully some extended versions of when the casts breaks out into songs.
I always wondered why Tony Shaloub kept winning those Emmy’s. Now I know why! Monk is a great show and Shaloub’s acting is superb! I would love to win the DVD, so I can catch up on episodes I have missed.
Absolutely love Psych! I need the dvds to get all my friends hooked. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen Monk so I’d really like to catch up on that too.
Not gonna lie…I really really want that pineapple stress toy. I seriously think that Psych is the most underrated show on television and the James/Dule chemistry is AMAZING.
Not so much a Monk fan to be honest, but my mom loves that show, so I figure I’ll just give her the DVD.

Whoa, this totally caught my eye. I love both shows, I’ve watched both since they started. And I just bought Monk Season 4, so come on, season 5 would be perfect. And Psych Season one… every episode is sheer awesome.

I love love love Psych. Part (ok, a lot) of that is because Dule Hill and James Roday make me lol every episode as Gus and Shawn. Psych makes my summers happy tv time. 🙂
I love both of these shows so much!! I’ve been a fan of monk basically since my uncle who was the director of photography for for it for several years got me into it. When promos for Psych started airing it instantly caught my eye, but the pilot was a big let down so I didn’t really give it a chance until midway through the first season, then I was completely hooked. I think I should win this prize because I loved both of these seasons and it’s the type of show you can watch over and over again without getting stale. Also I’ve never won one of these things in my life and I would be eternally grateful if you could show me some love.

I would love to win the dvds of these shows! I don’t have cable, so while I’ve heard great things about Monk, I’ve never seen it. Psych’s one of my favorite shows (I’m a sucker for a good and funny bromance), but watching online just isn’t the same as on TV.
I LOOOOVE Psych. I just started to watch Monk because of it being on before Psych. My roommate and I sing “Ebony and Ivory” like Shawn and Gus all the time now. Hand gestures and all.

I love the show Psych. It is, in my opinion, one of the best shows on TV. I have never seen monk but its on my “shows to eventually get to” list. I’ll leave you with one of the best moments from Psych –

I’m such a Psych fan that I scoured the Santa Barbara coast to take a picture next to the shooting location for Psych…only to later learn that they shoot the show in Canada. D’oh. 🙂
I love both Monk and Psych and can’t wait for the new seasons of both shows. I have been watching both shows since they originally aired. At this point I like Psych more that Monk but they are both great shows. As far as the prize I would like most, it would have to be the Monk bobblehead since I love Monk and have always been a sucker for bobbleheads.

I love these shows! I’ve been watching Psych since episode 1 and have been trying to get all my friends to watch it. To have season 1 on DVD would be great for me to relive the hilariousness and to share it with my friends.

I love Psych. But that’s not why I should win. I should win because I just quit my job and left my friend to move to Boston but I have no job and am staying with my mother in Concord where her cable TV doesn’t work right because she is so far out in the middle of nowhere. So I have no TV and I have to sleep with my mom and her dog every night until I get my own place. Tell me that doesn’t deserve some box sets to keep me happy. 🙂

I would be so psyched to win this. I think Monk’s a lot of fun–I’ve watched it off and on from the beginning though not straight through, so any full season would be awesome. As for Psych, I’ve heard fantastic things and LOVE Dule Hill (hello? How can you not? West Wing, anyone. I still think fondly of when he found Bartlett’s glasses). So it would be so fun to introduce me to something new and get me further into a great show!
Neat contest. Well, let’s see I love Monk. I started watching from halfway through season 1 and Psych I’ve seen from day one. I’ve missed a lot of Psych and Monk episodes since I didn’t have cable for awhile. I’ve caught up through all the re-runs. I love Monk marathons, and I love Shawn. I think sometimes the way I process things are along the lines of Monk and Shawn, but I think winning this prize will help me catch up with two of the shows I love that most of my friends don’t watch and then they can come watch and learn to love with me. 😉

I love Psych! It is goofy banter at it’s best (not just Gus and Shawn, but also Shawn and his dad). Plus, I love fresh pineapple.
I absolutely love “Psych” and can’t wait for it to come back! When it’s airing I always think to myself “this show is so funny… why don’t more people talk about it?”. I’ve been watching since day 1 and enjoying every minute of it! The channel “USA” is the word I use to describe my Friday nights for the last couple years. Seriously. Except I can’t stand how the seasons are so short! I would love a copy of the DVDs so that I can watch them anytime I would like. Plus, I think my brother would get a kick out of the Psych pineapple… I didn’t even know they sold those! I love Psych…I agree that it’s very underrated. It’s an awesome show that introduced two great characters in Shawn and Gus. And Lassiter! Plus, it would be wonderful to get the Monk DVD and watch to see what all the hype is about regarding it. This is a great contest!

Well I must say that i heart Psych in a big way! James Roday and Dule Hill are both incredibly charming. I fell in love with Dule Hill on the West Wing and fell in love with him in a completely different way on this show. I’d absolutely love to own this show on DVD, but as a poor college student on a budget I have to have patience … or enter online giveaways on my favorite TV blog! I love Psych. I crack up uncontrollably every time I see James Roday and Dule Hill singing ebony and ivory on the commercial. not kidding – uncontrollably. it would make my day to have this show on dvd (and monk is awesome, although I haven’t gotten to see it very often).
I would love, love, love! to win this prize. See, I like “Psych” and “Monk” well enough, but my husband is the one crazy about these shows! And he has a huge exam (Bar exam) coming up on July 30th for which he has been studying this whole summer, and it would be so cool if I could surprise him with these Psych goodies to show him some appreciation.. Seriously, think about it – the guy hasn’t really been outside since May even though the summer is in full bloom – no beach, no parties, nothing but books – the least he deserves is the Monk bobble head!
I have loved each of these shows since they started. USA is single-handedly bringing back the smart, funny, non-CSI detective show. And, despite the shows often being about murder, the crime is just the circumstance – the humor, kindness, and intelligence of the characters is the point.

i love psych. i really do i have watched all the episodes before but there is that special feeling of watching them over and over again and seeing the little things that i missed the first time.
although i have never seen monk before, besides a few snipets. i think it would be a really fun show to get into. especially because its psychs sister show.

I have watched Monk ever since it first started. It is one of my family’s favorite shows! I’ve just started watching Psych and I have become a fan of that show also. Thanks so much for the contest!

So my post didn’t go through and I can’t understand why….. here is what I said… unless you deleted it for some reason? Or I missed it? I’m really confused. Here’s my story again…. 🙂
I was once drawn to a store, but it wasn’t an ordinary store mind you, but a store that radiated with energy. I couldn’t see what it was because of the vast darkness the night laid upon, but I immediately felt something and headed inside to find a cloaked individual sitting at a table. They were dressed in long robes and fancy glass beads.
“Who are you, what is this place?” I asked. “Sit,” they said without revealing who they were. “Your name is Alicia and something important is on your mind.”
“That’s true.” I replied. “I see three funny men acting in unusual ways. They mean something to you.”
“Yes, yes, go on, who are these three funny men?” I wondered.
“They have quirks to which help solve mysteries. One is compulsive, but full of heart and soul. No matter how odd he may come across, people want his help because he gets the job done. He’s a very clean man.”
I seemed to know now where this mystery person was going but I had to hear more about these three men which have made an impact.
“Now the other two. They work hard, but they pretend. They assist a police department in Santa Barbara. One pretends to know the story before it happens, but he doesn’t. He’s very keen on details. He is very smart and funny. He has a father who loves him and keeps his secret. And this other man….I see…is his partner in this act. He helps run a fake agency where the pretender takes customers to help find missing people as well. This partner sometimes can’t handle his friend, but he does. They’ve known each other since they were young children…”
At that moment it became clear as to who this shrouded person was referring to, but they didn’t appear to be finished. “I feel there is a joke in all of this… with these two last men….they…they…want to ‘psych you out in the end??…’ now girl do you know who these three funny and talented men may be? You trust them to make you smile each week.”
I dropped dead in my tracks, a gasped. This cloaked stranger knew so much about me.
“Yes I do, you’re quite astonishing. These three men come from two popular television shows to which I’ve watched for a long time. The first man is Adrian Monk from the TV show ‘Monk.’ He’s an OCD-ridden detective who solves murders while trying to find out what happened to his wife, who he lost to a crime as well. While the other two are Shawn Spencer and Burton ‘Gus’ Guster from the TV show ‘Psych.’ Shawn pretends to be psychic and helps the police department solve cases with the aid of his best friend Gus. He has a good memory though he is not a psychic. His former police chief father Henry, taught his how to hone his observation skills, which come in handy as in adult. On the side, Shawn and Gus, own a business called ‘Psych’ to which they help people find missing people or solve crimes.” I said.
“These people seem very amazing and quick witted. Where can I find them?” this individual wondered.
“They would be on the USA Network every Friday.”
I was elated. This beaded person was as well. I had found my answers as to why these people were so funny and they had found new people to take notice of. We shook hands and I left the powerful store. At that moment the light appeared from the sky and shone on the the sign to which the place was called. I quickly turned around to see the words in plain sight…”Psych.”
See now if I can come up with such an elaborate story of fun, I’m meant to win.

Ok, we all agree, these shows are awesome! I have them all recorded onn my DVR but owning them would absolutl the bomb. The DVR is fine but I can’t take it with me and I have to watch it in my bedroom.
Why should you pick me? Well, my family calls me Mrs. Monk because I have many of the same issues as he does so obviously I LOVE this show since I can really really relate.
As far as Psych is concerned, I have to watch this show so that I can laugh too. They couldn’t have picked a better duo for the show.

Ok, I would love to win like whoa. Firstly, we are tremendous fans of Psych. We find ourselves quoting episodes, desperately searching to see if they’re showing any episodes we’ve missed, and frankly, I have a bit of a crush on Spencer’s nose. The pineapple is rad, and do I really honestly have to tell you how much I’d love to have that coffee mug? I mean come on, you have it there with you right, it says the psychic is in, you totally know how much I NEED that thing, right?

I’ll admit that when these shows first came out, I had no interest in seeing either one. Eventually, I happened to catch an episode of each and was totally hooked. I love both of these shows. I already saw the first episodes of the new season and it looks like they will still provide great shows. I really want to win this stuff.
