Hasselbeck vs. O’Donnell Thrown Down #8476

May 23, 2007 by

Holy hell, the bitchfest has gone to NEW levels today.  Rosie and Elizabeth went CRAZY on today’s THE VIEW.  I mean it got all kinds of nasty and crazy personal.  This was raw. I’m not here to defend either side other than to say WOW…just WOW! You just have to watch for yourself.

Good god! I bet Elizabeth is just counting down the days until this is all over.

    Christ!

  2. Stephanie on May 23rd, 2007 3:26 pm

Since when does “The View” use split screens?

  3. Brian on May 23rd, 2007 3:27 pm

Just…wow. That’s what it must have been like to be there for the Lincoln-Douglas debates

  4. Shari on May 23rd, 2007 3:45 pm

yah the split screen was intense. when i realized what they were doing w/ that, my jaw dropped even more. they were MILKING IT. And then Joy got all angry demanding for a commercial. Intense. SUCH. GOOD. TV. I’m not going to lie, I saved it on my DVR 🙂

  5. Mannie on May 23rd, 2007 3:52 pm

That gave me a little of a headache. And I’m more confused now than when they started talking. It’s SO hard to hear what someone is saying when 3 other people try to talk over them. Joy seemed like she wanted it to be about her and couldn’t take the attention being away from her for a few minutes. I don’t watch The View, so I don’t know if that’s how it always is, but wow.

Please post a blow by blow. Youtube is blocked by my office firewall, and I don’t have internet access at home right now.

I know Rosie is going to leave but, good God, Elizabeth, do yourself a favor and leave the show. All you’ve become is a punching bag. How can anyone watch this show? The shrieking is just…gad.

  8. Sarah on May 23rd, 2007 5:36 pm

Damn. That was intense. And the above post by Brian made me spit out my Diet Coke!

  9. DelegateFromIceland on May 23rd, 2007 5:55 pm

I’m with Sherri Shepherd, this is why I’d rather watch Dancing With The Stars–ok, maybe I don’t really watch that show either, but it’s exactly this kind of bitchy-ness and anger and divisiveness that turns people off of politics. I understand being passionate about the things you believe, but when it turns into such horrible, personal attacks, I get fed up. I have also never understood the appeal of this show. Catty women screeching and yelling at each other, and over each other? Thanks, I can do without that.

  10. L.A. on May 23rd, 2007 6:26 pm

wow, why is it taking so long for them to get a second conservative on the view? why should Elizabeth be stuck between Rosie and and Joy. It’s hard to disagree with two people at once. I used to watch the show but when it started getting to crazy I stopped, but I have kept up with watching the clips of all the fights. I love watching them discuss things, and the occasional fight is fun to watch, but the name of the show is the view, and I can’t hear any of their views when they are all talking over each other and getting personal

  11. Lauren on May 23rd, 2007 6:29 pm

so Rosie was mad that Elizabeth didn’t publicly stand up for her? what a bunch of crap…if you are going to be obnoxious and controverisal like Rosie you need to be able to stand up and take care of yourself. Good for Elizabeth for not backing down!

  12. Give Me My Remote on May 23rd, 2007 6:35 pm

“but the name of the show is the view, and I can’t hear any of their views when they are all talking over each other and getting personal”

    EXCELLENT point L.A.

  13. Jill on May 23rd, 2007 6:39 pm

This confirms for me that Rosie has lost her ever lovin mind. I used to be able to follow her arguments, and maybe not agree, but at least understand. Now she’s just talking gibberish. I didn’t used to like Elizabeth, but she’s really not backing down and you just gotta love that. No one ever fought Rosie before…. go get ‘um Elizabeth!

  14. friend on May 23rd, 2007 10:12 pm

I feel so bad for Elizabeth. Rosie just would not let it go. She was totally bullying Elizabeth and not letting her speak and then trying to be all lame and say “I’m not going to argue with you” when Elizabeth would tell her side. I am so glad Rosie is leaving the show, then I might actually watch it again.

  15. Bren on May 23rd, 2007 10:54 pm

Today was intense and those in charge sunk to new lows by adding the split screen. I thought it was good TV even if a little uncomfortable. I support Rosie all the way and I find Elisabeth to be very one sided and limited. That’s not to say that Rosie is without flaws but I adore her anyway and I trust and admirer her. Today was more about hurt feelings between friends and less about real politics though. I’ll miss Rosie and her view.

  16. Megan on May 23rd, 2007 11:31 pm

I agree with Bren’s post. This wasn’t about politics, it was about how the women relate to and understand each other. I think Rosie was right when she called Elizabeth a coward, and Elizabeth was definitely double-talking when she kept turning it around on Rosie. I saw the show a couple of days ago too, and I think anyone is a complete moron if they think that Rosie believes that our troops are terrorists.

  17. Nicole on May 23rd, 2007 11:53 pm

Wow what great television. I don’t usually get a chance to watch The View anymore, but I do keep up with some of the big “discussions” that go on between Rosie and Elizabeth. Maybe I’m biased as a Canadian, but to think that someone such as Elizabeth can continue to blindly follow George Bush as though he were the messiah is ridiculous. I have a hard time believing that even the most die-hard Republican wouldn’t be able to find flaws with this administration. Yet Elizabeth never seems to admit to a single fault of Bush et al. Hearing someone speak from a different point of view should be refreshing and challenging; not nauseating.

  18. Todd on May 24th, 2007 11:38 am

Rosie does come off as a loud mouth who doesn’t give anyone a chance. But if you watch regularly you will notice that she has been attempting to back off a bit. Also, watch her video blogs at rosie.com to get an insight on her true feelings and opinions. She was hired to give a POV and when she does her job, the media attacks her. I don’t agree with all of her points but if there are facts stating the total body count in ANY country WE are invading, who are the killers? and How do you define a terrorist?

I LOVE MY COUNTRY AND I SUPPORT ANY MAN, WOMAN OR YOUNG ADULT WHO PROTECTS OUR COUNTRY.But as far as I am concerned what are we protecting? We’re not protecting these men and women who are innocently dying, are we?

I’m currently listening to Bush’s press conference right now and he really is not the person to be leading this country. His speeches are fine because they are scripted, but when it comes time for him to answer the media questions he can’t do it, he runs himself off topic all the time.

  19. jo on May 24th, 2007 6:26 pm

Elizabeth just memorizes soundbytes from Fox News and just restates them as her opinions. She keeps saying is that a rhetorical question and demands to know the answer! Umm, but how retarded do you have to be know that rhetorical questions aren’t answered! Rosie was very hurt by Elizabeth and that’s what the arguement was about but Elizabeth just didn’t “get” what Rosie was saying and was going off on a completely different tangent. Elizabeth just likes to hear her own voice. She’s a complete tool.

  20. marcel on May 24th, 2007 7:44 pm

i’m glad rosie is leaving. i like her opinions and agree with many. elizabeth has always been naive about politics and life in general. go back to your cushy life, with your perfect family and general upper-class, white life. rosie has real world experience and elizabeth is famous for “surviving” on an island for less than 40 days. she didn’t even win.

and i honestly think many people like elizabeth because she is pretty, she is caucasian, she is enjoyable…until she starts talking politics. i hope she realizes soon how damaging this republican administration has been for our generation.

and the guess judge?! made me LIVID when she spoke of al gore like that.

  21. jig on May 24th, 2007 9:18 pm

“and the guess judge?! made me LIVID when she spoke of al gore like that.”

I know! I was a fan of Sherri Shepherd’s and was hoping she would get the job but yesterday she totally turned me off. She blew it and will not get the job.

What really pissed me off was Elizabeth capitalizing on the fight by going on Extra etc talking about how passionate they both are about politics and Rosie going on her blog stating how unbelievably hurt she was by Elizabeth and the producers of the View. I bet Elizabeth still doesn’t get why they fought so hard yesterday and she never will until Fox news tells her why she was fighting with Rosie.

And for Elizabeth to throw the Trump comment in Ro’s face that’s just a low blow and showed the true colors of Liz she’s a two faced bitch. But Trump coming to Ro’s defense now that is incredible!

  22. HealthcareHottie on May 24th, 2007 10:16 pm

Gee, where’s Barbara Walters when you need her.

  23. sara on May 24th, 2007 11:09 pm

if i were elizabeth i think i would just slapped rosie. rosie was being a b****. I get what Rosie is talking about when she says that the media describes Elizabeth as little poor Elizabeth and Rosie as the big fat gay girl, but should that really stop her? I mean come on. I really hate obnoxious people like that.

  24. michelle c. on May 25th, 2007 12:18 am

I just watched this for the first time. Elisabeth was heated from Joy’s list and was overtalking Joy when she began. Rosie didn’t say anything for a long time and was very articulate and calm talking to Elisabeth. I think that Elisabeth was completely in the wrong, throwing that tantrum that she does. I back Rosie 100% and think that she is the best thing that Elisabeth could have asked for. It is like when Marcia Cross got pregnant on DHousewives, when she left, it gave Nicolette Sheridan some more airtime. And Rosie has done the same for Elisabeth.

I’m not afraid to take a side.
Elizabeth is an ignorant Republican, who blindly supports the illegal war that has seen the innocent death of THOUSANDS of human beings.
I don’t not support the troops, but I will certainly not be one to say that they are protecting the US, because the truth is that it wasn’t Iraq that attacked. Simple.
I’m sad that Rosie is leaving early, because she’s giving Elizabeth more air time to pollute the minds of more people.
I don’t know how anyone can grow up, seeing what we’re seeing and still churn out the bull that she did. Shame on her.
