CASTLE: David Amann Teases the ‘Fantastic’ ‘Reckoning’

3XK/Jerry Tyson returned to the CASTLE scene in a major way with Monday’s episode, “Resurrection”: after being presumed-dead, he resurfaced (along with Dr. Nieman) long enough to claim he was another man who had surgery to look like Tyson…and for Beckett to be drugged and kidnapped, while Tyson and Nieman were at the precinct.
The second hour of the show’s nearly-annual two-parter, “Reckoning,” is perhaps even more intense than “Resurrection” (and maybe ten times as twisted), a fact CASTLE boss David Amann attributed, in part, to the team who helped bring it to life.

He’s back!
CASTLE viewers haven’t seen 3XK/Jerry Tyson since he fell to his (presumed) death in season 5, and in this Monday’s episode, “Resurrection,” Castle and Beckett are shocked when they come face-to-face with him…or at least, someone who looks just like him.
I had the chance to watch “Resurrection” a little bit early, and when I asked you guys for some questions for this YAIA, you delivered. So, I have a few answers to some of your burning questions (though as a reminder, the intention of these posts is always to tease, not completely spoil the episode)…

He’s back!
A rep for ABC has confirmed that Michael Mosley (Jerry Tyson/3XK) will return for CASTLE’s February sweeps two-parter. His return coincides with the return of 3XK’s disciple, Dr. Nieman (Annie Wersching).
Last viewers saw serial killer 3XK, Castle had shot him, and Tyson had fallen off a bridge…presumably to his death. But as CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe teased about 3XK’s potential return, “Let’s say it’s an arrow in my quiver and we’ll see what happens.”
The news was first reported by EW.com.
Are you excited for more 3XK on CASTLE?
CASTLE airs Mondays at 10 PM on ABC.

CASTLE: Andrew Marlowe on the ‘Personal Stakes’ in the Two-Parter, and More
February 17, 2013 by Marisa Roffman

CASTLE’s annual two-part arc kicks off on Monday, and instead of things being deadly on a grand scale, the stakes are much more personal for Castle — his daughter, Alexis, has been kidnapped.
I spoke with CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe about taking this step (and why they could only do it once), how everyone else will be reacting to the close-to-home case, the future of 3XK on the show, whether Beckett might say “I love you soon,” and more…
