With AGENTS OF SHIELD set to return in May, ABC is filling out more of its summer lineup with the Poppy Montgomery-led REEF BREAK and its unscripted series.
“We’re determined to make ABC the No. 1 destination for summer fun in every way,” said Karey Burke, ABC Entertainment president in a statement. “We’re giving fans more of what they love by adding a third day of ‘Summer Fun & Games,’ continuing THE BACHELOR franchise every week and debuting two new, bold dramas perfect for summer nights.”

AGENTS OF SHIELD won’t return to ABC until summer, but the first tease of season 6 is here. (The show has also already been renewed for season 7.)
When season 5 concluded, Coulson (Clark Gregg) left the team with Melinda (Ming-Na Wen) to live out the (apparent) rest of his life. The first footage of the new season does find SHIELD moving on after his death, with Melinda back at work.
However, it certainly appears Coulson—or at least Gregg—isn’t gone from the series.

AGENTS OF SHIELD suffered from inconsistent airing patterns during its first season, but that won’t be an issue in season 2.
“There is, basically, going to be our fall/winter season, and then we’re going to take a break and do a little show called AGENT CARTER…and then we’re going to be back,” AGENTS OF SHIELD/AGENT CARTER executive producer Jeph Loeb told reporters. “And we’ll be back and run [the rest of the season] all the way through. The idea is to give you as much Marvel as we can at 9 PM on Tuesday nights on ABC. If you do the math, there’s 22 SHIELDs, there’s 8 CARTERs, and so that’s 30 hours at that time…I think what you’ll see, is that by the time we get to, let’s call it ‘winter break,’ a lot of the stories we’ve picked up will be resolved in a new, wonderful way. But that doesn’t mean it won’t have new things that are surprising.”
