THE FOLLOWING Bosses on a Ryan Hardy-Centric Season 3, Michael Ealy’s New Big Bad, and More
February 9, 2015 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under #1 featured, The Following
We’re just three weeks away from the two-hour season premiere of THE FOLLOWING, and things are set to be a bit different when the show returns.
First of all, the Joe Carroll chapter of the series is over. While Carroll made it out alive (and James Purefoy’s Carroll will appear on the show) — thanks to an alternate ending not making the final cut — the focus of the show will shift more fully to Kevin Bacon’s Ryan Hardy. (And Ryan will have to contend with a new baddie this season.)
There’s also been a behind-the-scenes transition in showrunners, as THE FOLLOWING creator Kevin Williamson has handed over showrunner duties to a trio of show vets: writers/executive producers Brett Mahoney and Alexi Hawley, as well as director/executive producer Marcos Siega. (Williamson has been focused on CBS’ STALKER.)
I spoke with Mahoney and Hawley about the transition to showrunning THE FOLLOWING, “moving the center of the show,” why fans of THE FOLLOWING newbie Michael Ealy will be excited by the season, and more…
GMMR TV Awards: The Winners Revealed!

After weeks of nominations and voting, you have determined who should take home the fourth annual Give Me My Remote TV Awards!
Before we get to the winners, I want thank everyone who participated in our annual contest. Without your nominations and votes, it would just simply be me saying what I loved the most, and what fun is that? (And in case you think your vote might not have made a difference, while most winners won by hundreds — or thousands — of votes, one category was won by TWO votes.)
Which also means this is a good time to remind you that these winners are 100% decided by you, the Give Me My Remote readers, and some fan bases came out in droves (and mounted really impressive campaigns). So if you’re delighted by the winners, yay! I’m so happy to hear that. And if you’re disappointed, a) sorry, and b) hopefully you’re satisfied with at least one category.

After two weeks of Give Me My Remote readers nominating their television favorites from the past year, it’s time to vote for the 4th Annual GMMR TV Awards!
Most of the categories have five nominees, but due to ties, the number can vary. (And, as a reminder, each category can only have two nominees per show, so only the top two vote-getters from any particular series moved forward.)
The final category? “Show We Were Most Sorry to See Go.”
Take a look at your nominees and then vote for your choice below!

Which Newly Canceled Shows Are You Going to Miss the Most?
May 27, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
As we say goodbye to the 2013-2014 television season (and look ahead to the 2014-2015 season), there is the unfortunate fact that as per usual we had to say goodbye to a lot of shows. Some were planned (BREAKING BAD, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, etc.), and others…not so much.
Television is kind of a crazy medium to get invested in. For (most) books and movies, there’s a set beginning, middle, and end for each story, so even if only five people actually view it, the full story is still there. Not so much in TV. Even long-running shows can be canceled at the drop of a hat, and the number of series that get to end things wholly on their own terms still is minimal.

Fox Boss Kevin Reilly on the Network’s Recently Canceled Shows

Filed under Almost Human, Enlisted, Surviving Jack
There are a lot of exciting shows coming up next season for Fox, but the reality of the industry is that with all those new additions, a whole bunch of shows had to die.
On today’s conference call with reporters, Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX), was asked particularly about the decision to cancel ALMOST HUMAN and SURVIVING JACK, whose ratings were comparable (or better) than shows that were picked up. This is what Reilly said:
