MOZART IN THE JUNGLE will return for a second season, Amazon announced.
“The first season of MOZART IN THE JUNGLE was a big hit with our customers and I’m thrilled that we’re able to produce a second season,” said Roy Price, Vice President of Amazon Studios in a statement. “[Executive producers] Roman [Coppola], Jason [Schwartzman], and Paul [Weitz] brought viewers into this rarely-seen world of the symphony. I know fans of the series will be in for treat when the second season premieres early next year.”
“Jason, Paul and I are delighted to work on a second season of Mozart in the Jungle,” said Coppola. “There are so many interesting stories we want to tell and we’re looking forward to shooting another season with our wonderful cast and team of collaborators. We’re grateful to all the folks at Amazon who believe in this project and support us to portray the world of our symphony in what we hope will be an interesting, fun and imaginative season of television. We can’t wait for the curtain to rise on season two.”
Series stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Saffron Burrows, Lola Kirke, and Malcolm McDowell will return for the show’s second season.

Comments Off on COCKED: Sam Trammell on Brotherly Drama, Playing with Fire, and Amazon’s Pilot Process
Amazon’s latest pilot season is nearing its end, and a handful of new original (potential) shows are competing for your attention.
One of the ones I was drawn to is COCKED, a drama that centers around the Paxon family, and their gun business. (It stars Sam Trammell, Jason Lee, Dreama Walker, and Brian Dennehy, and was co-created by LIE TO ME’s Samuel Baum and MANHATTAN’s Sam Shaw.)
I spoke with Trammell — who plays Richard, the Paxon who is reluctantly dragged back into the family business — about the Amazon pilot process, filming one of the pilot’s crazy stunts, where the show might go, and more …

Amazon is once again doing its pilot season, and seven potentially new original shows are in contention to potentially move forward.
One of the shows that’s caught my attention is COCKED, a family drama that centers around the Paxons…whose family business is a gun manufacturing company. (It stars Sam Trammell, Jason Lee, Dreama Walker, and Brian Dennehy.)
To get a little more insight into COCKED — and the Amazon pilot process — I spoke with series co-creator Samuel Baum to see what he could share (slight spoilers for the COCKED pilot, so if you haven’t watched it yet, check it out here)…

THE AFTER, THE X-FILES creator Chris Carter’s new series for Amazon, will not move forward with its planned first season, Variety reports.
The drama — which focused on a group of strangers who bonded during a mysterious event — was originally set to start production on the rest of season 1 in October 2014. (The pilot debuted last February on Amazon’s streaming site.)
In a statement to Variety, Amazon VP Roy Price confirmed they had parted with the series, “We have decided to not move forward with THE AFTER. We would like to thank Chris Carter, the phenomenal cast, crew and producers for all their efforts.”
THE AFTER had been set to star Aldis Hodge, Andrew Howard, Arielle Kebbel, Sharon Lawrence, Louise Monot, Jania Lee Ortiz, and Adrian Pasdar.
