As SUPERNATURAL heads into its 15th season, the cast and creative team are already prepping for the end—literally.
With the decision to bring the series to a close made before they wrapped season 14, the writers were able to craft the final year’s arc with a specific conclusion in mind…and have already pitched the idea to stars Jensen Ackles (who plays Dean) and Jared Padalecki (who plays Sam).

On SUPERNATURAL’s 300th episode, Dean (Jensen Ackles) thought he had a solution to get rid of the locked up Michael in his head: an item that would give him what his heart desired.
But it didn’t work out as planned, and instead, John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) was revived—and they had to destroy the item to stop an unwanted ripple of events. That left Dean, Sam (Jared Padalecki), and Castiel (Misha Collins) right back where they started.

In “Lebanon,” SUPERNATURAL’s 300th episode, a relatively normal quest for Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) takes a drastic turn when the brothers get the shock of their lives: their long-dead father John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) returns.
The reunion in the milestone hour—which airs Thursday, February 7—is a big one for the show, as Morgan hasn’t physically appeared on-screen since the end of season 2. (All the way back in 2007.) And with the brothers struggling to find a way to save Dean, who has been grappling with Michael being trapped in his head, their father’s presence could be just what they need.
SUPERNATURAL co-showrunner Andrew Dabb (who co-wrote the episode with Meredith Glynn) teased the familial reunion, what’s in store in the hour, and praised the crew that helped bring the series to this milestone… Read more

SUPERNATURAL is reaching its milestone 300th episode in its upcoming 14th season. During Sunday’s Comic-Con panel, executive producer Robert Singer revealed he’d be directing it, but claimed he knew nothing about its plot. (He joked fellow executive producer Andrew Dabb was keeping it from him.)
In the press room after the panel, Dabb was more open about where they are thinking of going with the episode. “The 100th episode was very much a straight-up episode of SUPERNATURAL,” Dabb explained to reporters. “The 200th went very much in the other direction, where it was very meta…I think for the 300th, we want to do something that lies in the middle.”

As SUPERNATURAL gears up for the final arc of its season, Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), and Castiel (Misha Collins) are on the hunt for the remaining items that will allow them to return to the Apocalypse World. (Sam and Dean’s mother, Mary, is currently there, as is Lucifer’s son, Jack.)
“Eventually they’ll get all that they need,” SUPERNATURAL executive producer Robert Singer teased prior to the show’s PaleyFest panel. “The run-up to [the end of the season] is as big as we’ve done, in an odd way. We’re excited where the story is taking us.”
“Seeing what Jared and Jensen do, it’s always exciting for us,” added executive producer Andrew Dabb, who cited the next couple of episodes as installments he was most excited for fans to see. (The long-running CW series has also officially been renewed for next season, as well.)
