On the Wednesday, February 28 episode of CHICAGO MED, Ripley (Luke Mitchell) is tasked with treating an old friend.

“He grew up as a tough kid, kind of on the streets, [from] a broken home,” CHICAGO MED co-showrunner Andrew Schneider tells Give Me My Remote. “And he ran with a tough crowd. He changed his life, but some of his old friends have not. He has a patient who is one of those guys.”

As CHICAGO MED prepares to say goodbye to Brian Tee’s Ethan Choi, showrunners Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider were immediately clear with how they wanted to write out the beloved character.

“We wanted a very honorable exit,” Frolov tells Give Me My Remote. “Something that was happy, fulfilling.”

On Wednesday, October 16, NBC’s CHICAGO shows cross over for arguably the biggest 3-hour block in the franchise’s history.
